The aim of this paper is to present a load transfer method and an elastic method for the settlement prediction of piles. The proposed methods when compared with some pile load tests, show their field of application and their validity. In particular, the load transfer method based on prebored hole pressuremeter test results is well suited for design purposes, while the elastic method of Poulos and Davis with the proposed correlations with SPT, CPT and PMT results is sufficient for preliminary design purposes. |
