The problem of specific behavior assignment and simultaneous disturbance rejection of distillation columns is studied using singlerate and multirate periodic digital controllers. The periodic controllers derived are realistic to implement using digital computers and they have no need of the full state vector, since the variables which are used for feedback are the outputs. Moreover, the periodic controllers designed in this paper yield significant improvement in the system's performance by improving the quality of the product, by reducing operating costs, etc. |
