This paper includes an investigation of the viability of wind energy conversion systems on a typical Greek island, namely Myconos, from the technical and financial point of view, aiming the realization of a technically feasible while financially attractive power plant for the energy requirements of a small enterprise in the technically, environmentally and financially optimal way and for the exploitation of the island's existing energy sources by the Local Authorities (L. A.). The optimal system is based on the results of the study of the wind potential as well as of the energy production calculations and of the financial analysis carried out. |
