heal.abstract The viscous flow in a backswept impeller, followed by a vaneless diffuser, is analyzed using a 3-D Navier-Stokes code. Turbulence is modelled through the k-ε model, all convection terms are analyzed through second order upwind schemes and a predictor-corrector implicit scheme performs the time integration. Jet-wake and vortical flow patterns inside the rotor are predicted and compared with available measurements. en
