heal.abstract The chemometrics approach of fluorescence spectroscopy proposed by our work, is based on the application of appropriate mathematical and statistical methods in order to extract reliable and relevant information from whole fluorescence spectra. We present here, selected examples from recent applications of this new approach on both solid and liquid samples. Fluorescence spectral data are correlated through PLS (partial least squares) models with physical and chemical properties of lignocellulosics, e.g. yields of various pulping processes, colour of yellowed and bleached pulps, Kappa Number, lignin monomeric structure, lignin functional groups, as well as the origin of the fibrous raw material. en
