In this paper the modeling of electric contacts operation is attempted. An equivalent circuit is proposed which is valid for common applications electrical contacts. The models theoretic background is relations concerning quantum mechanical tunnelling, as well as a new formula proposed to the present work which simulates the activity of arcs and discharges. The investigation is based upon commonly accepted principles concerning contacts operation. Between the experimental results obtained through the measurements performed and the theoretical ones resulted from the models application, a satisfactory equality was found. The proposed model seems to wholly simulate electric contacts operation, even if they are in advanced degradation. |
