Στα πλαίσια της παρούσης διπλωματικής εργασίας κατεβλήθη κάθε προσπάθεια ακριβούς και λεπτομερούς απεικόνισης, κατά το δυνατό, τρισδιάστατου γεωμετρικού μοντέλου της Αθηναϊκής Τριήρους με χρήση του προγράμματος CAD : CATIA V5. Η σχεδίαση βασίστηκε σε ναυπηγικές γραμμές σχεδίασης και κατασκευαστικά σχέδια του συγγράματος “ THE ATHENIAN TRIREME “ των J. S. MORRISON, J. F. COATES και N. B. RANKOV καθώς και σε φωτογραφικό υλικό που ελήφθη από επισκέψεις στην μαρίνα Φλοίσβου όπου βρίσκεται αντίγραφο σκάφους της Τριήρους. |

dc.description.abstract |
The aim/scope of present thesis is the enhanced preparation of the detailed 3d-model for the Athenian Trireme. The first approach of the author with the geometry of Trireme took place during the course of “CAD/CAM systems for the Design & Construction of ships”, lectured in the 6th semester’ period of the Naval Architect’s Department at the National Technical University of Athens. The design was based on the sheer, half breadth and body plan geometric lines extracted from the publication “THE ATHENIAN TRIREME” by “ J.S.MORRISON, J.F.COATES and N.B.RANKOV”. We have used the CATIA V5 Computer Aid Design system to simulate the Athenian Trireme. Subject system provides many advanced tools in the designing process. The theoretical frames, as they were drawn/smoothed by fairing via the use of Rhinocheros 3 CAD system, were initially introduced into the system as original data input. The Trireme hull was developed by the utilization of suitable system’ commands. In turn, the design of vertical and horizontal stiffeners was effected, followed by the upper deck and the 2nd deck’ corridor, laying out. Finally, given the geometry hull structure, the definitive form / shape in the Trireme, was accomplished by designing the remaining structural details for stern, bow, steering gear system, oars and as many other secondary details as we considered to be essentially required. The complete Athenian Trireme simulated via CATIA V5 system, may be also used for demonstration purposes or for virtual reality presentations. |
