The present work deals with steady-viscous flow computations past a Series-60, cB = 0.6 model under a pre-determined free-surface. The latter has been measured in the towing tank of NTUA at three Froude numbers: 0.25, 0.316 and 0.35. The RANS equations are solved numerically by a finite volume method in a body-fitted grid. The k-ε turbulence model is employed to account for turbulence quantities, while a marching algorithm solves the fully elliptic transport equations. Computed resistance values are compared to experimental data. © 2005 Taylor & Francis Group. |
