This paper presents the design process and the post-occupation evaluation of a singlefamily house in Florina, north-western Greece. The climate of Florina is continental and is characterised by long heavy winters and short warm summers. The main purpose of the paper is to evaluate the efficiency of the applied passive solar strategies. This is achieved through in-situ air temperature measurements for the winter period, thermal analysis using software and recorded evaluations made by the users of the house. The combination and the comparison of the results of the three aforementioned approaches provide an overall, comprehensive assessment of the design strategies, which guided the design of the house. |
