heal.abstract | Multi storey buildings from composite construction have been widely used lately in Greece. For the further promotion of this type of construction, it is necessary to provide technical support, which includes the development of software tools for the analysis and design according to the provisions of the relevant Eurocodes. This paper presents the works carried out in the frame of a national research project, which include the development of integrated software for the analysis and design of composite buildings and their elements shown in Figure 1, in seismic areas. The software was based on a Design Guide, which was specifically written for the project. This guide codifies the design procedure and provides the information necessary for modeling the building, modeling the phases of construction, the corresponding loading conditions, their combinations and the verifications for strength, stability, deformations, fire situations etc. in the ultimate and serviceability limit states. © 2006 Taylor & Francis Group. | en |
