The interferometric phase is analysed in many components such as the phase delay due to the local topography and the atmospheric phase delay. The atmospheric path delay in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferograms are mainly due to ionospheric and tropospheric effects. The signal delay due to troposphere is further analysed as a function of the parameters air pressure, temperature, water vapour pressure and relative humidity. This paper reviews a number of tropospheric path delay calculation models and proposes a statistical analysis of the error of the different parameters included in these models. The statistical analysis of the error propagation is based on the Atkinson model according to which every floating point number implies an error. According to the central Limit Theorem of the probability theory, these errors are normally distributed permitting the estimation of the precision of the tropospheric path delay. |
