In this work, we introduce a new scatter simulation algorithm where the probability of having double scatter occurrences is calculated by the polarized Klein-Nishina formula. During the evaluation, we illustrate when the use of the polarized Klein-Nishina formula becomes important. The whole implementation is based on the STIR (Software for Tomographic Image Reconstruction) library. © 2006 IEEE. |
