In this paper a model for the determination of the load stressing the track is presented. The basic parameters of concrete sleeper design for the most adverse conditions of the Greek network are investigated, and methodology for calculating the load undertaken by each sleeper is proposed. Finally, numerical applications on twin-block sleepers and on monoblock sleepers, including the presence of fastenings of high resilience, are presented. © 2007 Taylor & Francis Group, London. |
