Extending the two dimensional cracked problem which has been studied under plane strain conditions using the J integral evaluation in sandwich specimens under flexural loading, a three dimensional analysis is performed. A numerical method using a commercial finite element program and creating a code in order to confront the singular three dimensional crack problem, has been implemented. An investigation of the numerical results for the J integral of a crack into the core of a sandwich specimen is also included in this study. |
