heal.abstract	Στη διάλεξη με τίτλο «Η Βαλένθια και η θάλασσα, επανάχρηση κτηρίων στο θαλάσσιο μέτωπο» αναλύεται η σχέση της Βαλένθια με τη θάλασσα από την ίδρυσή της κατά τα Ρωμαϊκά χρόνια μέχρι σήμερα και η προσπάθεια ένωσης της πόλης με αυτήν μέσω της αποκατάστασης κτηρίων με πρώην εμπορικές και κατασκευαστικές λειτουργίες. Παρά τη μικρή της απόσταση από τη θάλασσα, η Βαλένθια χαρακτηριζόταν πάντα από το ποτάμι της ενώ, στην παραθαλάσσια ζώνη εντοπίζονταν κυρίως εμπορικές, λιμενικές και βιομηχανικές χρήσεις. Οι παραθαλάσσιες περιοχές ενώθηκαν τυπικά με την πόλη μόλις στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα ενώ η ουσιαστική τους ένωση θεωρείται πως δεν έχει πραγματοποιηθεί ακόμα. Κατά την προσπάθεια βελτίωσης αυτής της σχέσης σε συνδυασμό με τη διατήρηση και προστασία των κτηρίων και του χαρακτήρα του παλιού λιμανιού, πραγματοποιήθηκε μία σειρά αποκαταστάσεων των κτηρίων και μία γενικότερη αναδιαμόρφωση της παραλιακής ζώνης. Εκεί, φιλοξενήθηκαν διοργανώσεις παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας όπως το «Gran Prix της Formula1» και το «America’s Cup». Μεγάλο μέρος της παραθαλάσσιας ζώνης παραμένει αδιαμόρφωτο, ενώ αναμένεται η πραγματοποίηση ενός μεγάλου έργου στις εκβολές του παλιού ποταμού με καθοριστικό ρόλο για τη σύνδεση της πόλης με τη θάλασσα. Η βελτίωση της σχέσης της πόλης με τη θάλασσα αποτελεί σήμερα ένα από τα βασικά ζητούμενα της κοινότητας της Βαλένθια.	el
heal.abstract	The lecture “Valencia and the sea, Rehabilitation of buildings on the sea front” analyses the relationship between Valencia and the sea, since its foundation during the Roman era until now. This bond is co-examined through the scope of buildings’ rehabilitation that used to have commercial or constructional use. Despite the small distance between the sea and the city, Valencia was always characterized by its river, while the seafront was considered an industrial area. The sea front was typically united with the city during the end of the 19th century but the urban connection remains doubtful until today. Efforts to improve this connection have been made while maintaining and protecting the existing constructions. In order not to deviate from the character of the old port efforts were targeted to a series of restorations and a general reconfiguration of the sea front, leading to the host of worldwide events like the ones of the “Formula1 Gran Prix” and the “America’s Cup”. Although a large part of the coastal zone remains out of urban plan, a major project on the river’s deltas is expected. This plan will play a decisive role in the connection of the city with the sea. The improvement city-sea link is now one of the basic goals of the Valencian community.	en
