heal.abstract	Η παρούσα έρευνα πραγματεύεται την υλική υπόσταση της Αρχιτεκτονικής. Το αρχιτεκτόνημα, αν και μπορεί να συσχετιστεί με αφηρημένες έννοιες, αποτελεί συγκεκριμένο «πλάσμα», τοποθετημένο σε χώρο και χρόνο που εκφράζεται με υλικό και κατασκευάζεται με ανάλογη τεχνική. Είναι φανερό πως η έμφαση του ενδιαφέροντος μας για την υλικότητα μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε μια προσέγγιση πρακτική, εστιασμένη στη διαχειριστική εμπειρία της ύλης. Πρόκειται για προσέγγιση απόλυτα θεμιτή, η οποία εντούτοις οφείλει να σεβαστεί τη διαπίστωση πως ο πολιτισμικός ρόλος του υλικού υπερβαίνει την πρακτική λογική και ολοκληρώνεται, με την απόδοση αισθητικών αξιών καθοριστικών για την χρήση της ύλης. Ως αναπόσπαστο τμήμα της αρχιτεκτονικής διαδικασίας μπορεί έτσι η υλικότητα να διαμορφώσει και να καθορίσει την πορεία σύνθεσης του αρχιτεκτονήματος, ενώ παράλληλα η σημασία του υλικού διαπλάθεται εννοιολογικά, ανάλογα με τα μέσα που προάγει κάθε ιστορική περίοδος. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, εξετάζεται σε ειδικότερο επίπεδο ο ρόλος που καλείται να διαδραματίσει το υλικό υπό τους νέους όρους που εισάγει η ψηφιακή τεχνολογία στον τομέα της Αρχιτεκτονικής. Στη σύγχρονη πρωτοπορία διαπιστώνεται διαρκώς μια διαφορετική αντίληψη διαχείρισης της υλικότητας η οποία συμβαδίζει με τον αντίστοιχο μετασχηματισμό της συνθετικής διαδικασίας. Η ύλη κατανοείται πλέον με όρους ροής πληροφορίας, υπολογιστικών διαδικασιών και μεταβλητών σχέσεων, μέσα από τις οποίες γεννιούνται νέοι τρόποι προσέγγισης της μορφής.	el
heal.abstract	This research deals with the materiality of architecture. Although the architectural object can be associated with abstract concepts, it is indeed a specific "creature" located in space and time, expressed in a certain material and made with relative technique. It is clear that the emphasis of our interest for materiality can lead to a practical approach, focused on the management of matter. It is a totally legitimate approach, which however must respect the fact that the cultural role of the material exceeds the practical logic and gets completed with the attribution of aesthetic values, determining the use of matter. As an integral part of the architectural process can thus materiality shape and determine the architectural composition, while the importance of material gets intensified semantically, depending on the means of every historical period. In this context, we examine in a more specific level, the new role of material, introduced by the innovative conditions of digital technology in Architecture. We realize that today materiality is conceived in a different way which is consistent with the corresponding transformation of the composition process. The material is now understood in terms of information flow, computational procedures and variable relationships, through which new approaches of form are born.	en
