heal.abstract	Στόχος της διπλωματικής ήταν η δημιουργία ενός κτιρίου αφιερωμένου στην εκπαίδευση, την έρευνα, την μείωση της τρωτότητας της κοινωνίας απέναντι στον σεισμό, στο πλαίσιο μιας σφαιρικής θεώρησης του φαινομένου ως αναπόσπαστου τμήματος του τόπου. Η επιλογή της Κεφαλλονιάς, και συγκεκριμένα του Αργοστολίου, για την χωροθέτηση του Μουσείου έγινε δεδομένων των γεωλογικών χαρακτηριστικών της, αλλά και της ιστορίας της, που στιγματίστηκε από σεισμικά συμβάντα. Σκοπός ήταν η δημιουργία ενός κτιρίου που λειτουργεί καθόλη την διάρκεια της ημέρας, συνδυάζοντας ενημέρωση, εκπαίδευση και έρευνα. Που να προετοιμάζει τον γενικό πληθυσμό, να καταρτίζει μηχανικούς και ιατρούς καταστροφής, και μέσω μακροπρόθεσμης και σχεδιασμένης προσπάθειας να μειώνει την τρωτότητα του πληθυσμού. Στο κτιριολογικό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνεται ένα μικρό Ερευνητικό Κέντρο, παράρτημα του Γεωδυναμικού Ινστιτούτου. Η έρευνα επεκτάθηκε στους τομείς της πολιτικής προστασίας και της διαχείρισης καταστροφών. Η περίοπτη θέση και τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά του κτιρίου, μέσα στην σύγχυση και τον αποπροσανατολισμό μετά την καταστροφή, σηματοδοτούν ένα ασφαλές σημείο συνάντησης και συγκέντρωσης. Μέσα από μια καθορισμένη, βιωματική πορεία στο τοπίο και τον χώρο, η σύνθεση στόχο έχει ο επισκέπτης να αποκτήσει μια νέα θεώρηση του φαινομένου του σεισμού. Να κατανοήσει τις πολλαπλές πτυχές του, να αναλογιστεί την σχέση του ίδιου και του τόπου με αυτό, κι εν τέλει να κατακτήσει τις γνώσεις και δεξιότητες ώστε να μπορέσει να συναπάρξει μαζί του. Σε συνδυασμό με το Ερευνητικό Κέντρο, το Μουσείο Σεισμού φιλοδοξεί να αποτέλεσει ένα σημείο αναφοράς διεθνώς για την Κεφαλλονιά και το Αργοστόλι, ένα κέντρο παραγωγής γνώσης στην υπηρεσία της κοινότητας.	el
heal.abstract	The main purpose of this project was to create a building dedicated to education and research on earthquakes, as well as reducing vulnerability, in an attempt to spherically investigate the seismic phenomenon as an integral part of the region. Taking into consideration both its geological features, as well its history, which has been marked by seismic events, the island of Cephalonia and its capital, Argostoli were selected to locate the Museum. The objective was to create a building that is operating all day long, combining education, training and research. That is ensuring population preparedness, as well as training disaster doctors and engineers, and that, through long-term, planned effort is ultimately reducing population vulnerability. A small Research Centre, part of the Geodynamic Institute, was incorporated into the building programme. Research expanded to the fields of civic protection and disaster management. The advantageous location and the characteristics of the building serve to mark a safe meeting and concentration area, during post-disaster disorientation and confusion. Through a strictly defined itinerary in topography and space, the synthesis aims at the visitor acquiring a new perspective. By gaining an understanding of the multifaceted seismic phenomenon and by reflecting upon his own as well as the region’s relationship with it, he or she will conquer the knowledge and abilities to harmoniously co-exist with it. Combined with the Research Centre, the Earthquake Museum has the ambition to become a point of reference at an international level for Cephalonia and the town of Argostoli, a centre producing knowledge in the service of the community.	en
