heal.abstract	The subject of the present thesis is the statistical analysis of the Non Accidental Structural Failures (NASF) and machinery failures on tankers with deadweight larger than 60.000t (“large tankers”), that occurred in the period 1990-2011 independently of year of built. The general assessment criteria taken into consideration are: - Event location, ship operation, environment - Outcome of event - Fatalities, injuries - Oil spill information - Shipyards, flags, classes NASF were analyzed with additional parameters: - Basic hull type (double hull or non double hull) - Ship’s size (Panamax, Aframax, Suezmax, VLCC, ULCC).	en
