heal.abstract	Στην παρούσα εργασία αναπτύσσεται και υλοποιείται υπολογιστικό μοντέλο που με χρήση της μεθόδου Benchmarking έχει τη δυνατότητα να υπολογίζει τη θέση ανταγωνισμού που κατέχει ο Λιμένας Πειραιώς ανάμεσα σε επιλεγμένα Ευρωπαικά λιμάνια. Επί του μοντέλου εξετάστηκε ένα (1) case study για το έτος 2017, τη χρονιά που βάσει χρονοδιαγράμματος τα περισσότερα λιμάνια της ανάλυσης θα έχουν υλοποιήσει επεκτάσεις και επενδύσεις στις υποδομές τους. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο της , γίνεται μια εισαγωγή στις έννοιες των μεταφορών και πιο συγκεκριμένα των συνδυασμένων μεταφορών καθώς επίσης και προυποθέσεις που διέπουν για ανάπτυξη αυτών στα εμπορευματικά κέντρα. Κατόπιν, στο επόμενο κεφάλαιο, γινεται μια αποτίμηση της υπάρχουσας κατάστασης στην λιμενική βιομηχανία διαχείρισης εμπορευματοκιβωτίων ανάμεσα στα λιμάνια του κόσμου και της Ευρώπης και σε επόμενο στάδιο γίνεται η επιλογή των λιμένων προς σύγκριση. Το επόμενο κεφάλαιο αφορά τον λιμένα Πειραιώς και γίνεται εκτενής αναφορά στις εμπορικές δραστηριότητές του. Κατόπιν δίνονται αναλυτικά τα επεκτατικά έργα του λιμένος σύμφωνα με το ανακοινωθέν νέο αναπτυξιακό επενδυτικό πρόγραμμα του ΟΛΠ, οι λόγοι που οδήγησαν στην επιλογή αυτών, καθώς επίσης και τα οφέλη που αναμένεται να υπάρξουν. Έπειτα στα πλαίσια της σύγκρισης του λιμενικού ανταγωνισμού κρίθηκε απαραίτητη η επισκόπηση μεθοδολογιών και η επιλογή μια εξ αυτών προς την κατεύθυνση αυτή. Στο σημείο αυτό επιλέγεται η μέθοδος Benchmark και γίνεται ανάλυσης της έννοιας, της μορφής , των πλεονεκτημάτων της και των εφαρμογών της στις μεταφορές. Στα επόμενα κεφάλαια, για την μέθοδο αυτή εφαρμόζεται ένα case study, για την εκίμηση της θέσεως του λιμενικού ανταγωνισμού που αναμένεται να κατέχει ο Πειραιάς το 2017. Προηγείται αυτού του κεφαλαίου, ένα κεφάλαιο το οποίο καταγράφει τα επεκτατικά έργα των λιμένων της ανάλυσης Benchmark και τα οποία πρόκειται να ολοκληρωθούν έως το έτος 2017. heal.abstract	In this thesis we developed and implemented a computational model using the Benchmarking method, which is able to calculate the position held in competition by the Port of Piraeus between selected European ports. The model considers a (1) case study for the year 2017 which is after the completion of the expanding works of the Piraeus port and which by schedule most of the analysis ports will have most of their extensions and investments in infrastructure completed. In the second chapter, there is an introduction to the concepts of transport and in particular at combined transport and the conditions for such development in freight centers. Then, the next chapter is an assessment of the existing situation in the port industry container handling between the ports of the world and Europe and next a selection of ports are chosed for comparison. The next chapter deals with the port of Piraeus and contains a detailed report on commercial activities. Details about the port expansion projects are given in accordance with the communiqué new development investment program of PPA, finally a reference about the reasons for the selection of these, as well as the benefits to be expected is made. To continue with, a comparison of port competition was necessary, to review methodologies and select one of them for this diploma. At this point, information are given about the Benchmark analysis and its form, showcasing its advantages and applications on transport. In the following chapter, the method is u studysed in one case study, for the expected position of port competition to be held by Piraues port at 2017. Before this scenario it is included a chapter which records the expansion projects of the ports included in the Benchmarking analysis, which will be completed by the year 2017. At the end of the thesis a summary of the findings of this thesis are given and also suggestions for further development are made.	en
