heal.abstract	Βασικό ερώτηµα-στόχος της παρούσης εργασίας αποτελεί η ανίχνευση της χωρικής συνθήκης οργάνωσης του βλέµµατος στο Ιερό της ∆εσποίνης στη Λυκόσουρα της Αρκαδίας. Η ∆έσποινα, κόρη της ∆ήµητρας και του Ίππιου Ποσειδώνα απετέλεσε την πιο λατρεµένη θεότητα των Αρκάδων. Αντικείµενο έρευνας για την προσέγγιση του βασικού ερωτήµατος αποτελεί το αρχιτεκτονικό στοιχείο του κατόπτρου που βρισκόταν ενσωµατωµένο στον τοίχο, κοντά στην έξοδο του Ναού όπου στεγαζόταν το γλυπτό των θεαινών. Φαίνεται πως η χωρική τοποθέτησή του στο αρχιτεκτονικό σύµπλεγµα του Ιερού χώρου έπαιζε σηµαντικό ρόλο µέσω της ιδιότυπης οργάνωσης των βλεµµάτων: σύµφωνα µε τον Παυσανία αυτός που έστρεφε το βλέµµα στην επιφάνειά του δεν έβλεπε καθαρά τον εαυτό του ή και καθόλου (ἀμυδρῶς) ενώ έβλεπε µε καθαρότητα (ἐναργῶς) το είδωλο του γλυπτικού συµπλέγµατος των θεοτήτων στο εσωτερικό του ναού. Τίθεται ως υπόθεση εργασίας η άποψη ότι στο κάτοπτρο της ∆εσποίνης φαίνεται να λαµβάνει χώρα µια αντιστροφή της συνήθους χωρικής οργάνωσης του βλέµµατος όπου από τόπος συνάντησης µε τον εαυτό (µέσω της ανακλαστικότητας και του ανταποδοτικού βλέµµατος) µετατρέπεται εδώ σε µηχανισµό-όργανο επικοινωνίας µε των κόσµο των θεών, ένα παράθυρο-άνοιγµα του βλέµµατος προς το Επέκεινα, αντίστοιχο µιας «επιφάνειας»	el
heal.abstract	The central question of this thesis revolves around the detection of the spatial condition that organized the distribution of the gaze at the temple of Despoina in Lycosura of Arcadia. Despoina, the daughter of Demeter and Poseidon, was the most celebrated goddess of the Arcadians. Here, the object of investigation is the architectural element of the mirror that was integrated in the wall near the exit of the temple where the sculpture of the gods was housed. It seems that the spatial arrangement of the mirror at the sanctuary’s architectural complex, played a significant role through a peculiar organization of the gaze. According to Pausanias, the one that looked at the mirror’s surface saw himself dimly or not at all, while at the same time he could clearly see the reflection of the sculptural complex of the gods inside the temple. The main hypothesis adopted, is the view that on the surface of this mirror a reversal of the usual distribution of the gaze seems to take place. The mirror, as the place of the encounter with oneself (through the reflection and the reciprocal gaze) turns here into a mechanism of communication with the world of the gods, an opening of the gaze towards the beyond, something similar to an ‘epiphany’.	en
