This is the design of a youth art-park in the now existing “pyrovoliko” park at the edge of Preveza next to the moat of the city. It concerns an area of 2 acres and involves a building program of about 1500 m2 with 3 units of workshops (painting-photography with an exhibition area, dancing-drama with a thatre and music-radio with a youth center). In an urban scale the intention is to create nods in and out of the moat in order to unite through it the new part of the city with the old. This park would be on of the dominant nods due to its relationship with the educational and athletic grid of the city. When it comes to the theoretical basis of design, a reference is being made to the fortification architecture of the moat. and As for the flow of visitors a phenomenological approach is selected taking into consideration the disagreement of will, view and movement of each one. An important factor was also the interactivity of the park and so benches, faucets, blinds and water installations were designed to enhance the visitors experience. Last but not least, a study was made on the flora of the Ambrachian gulf and the selected plants were divided in to categories (urban, forest) with a third one providing unity of the composition without hurting the division of the two landscape vocabularies. |
