heal.abstract	Κάπου ανάμεσα στη Δύση και την Ανατολή, στη στεριά και τη θάλασσα, δυο αρχιτέκτονες καλούνται να επέμβουν σ’ ένα ιστορικά φορτισμένο περιβάλλον, μέσα σ’ ένα αυστηρό πλαίσιο διατήρησης. Είναι ο Ιταλός Carlo Scarpa και ο Ιάπωνας Tadao Ando, οι οποίοι αναλαμβάνουν- ο πρώτος το 1966 και ο δεύτερος 50 χρόνια μετά- να μετατρέψουν δύο ιστορικά κελύφη της Βενετίας σε εκθεσιακούς χώρους-μουσεία. Ο Carlo Scarpa, γνήσιος Βενετσιάνος, εμπνέεται από τα ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά της πόλης του και είναι βαθύς γνώστης των υλικών και τεχνοτροπιών της αρχιτεκτονικής της, ενώ παράλληλα στρέφει το βλέμμα του προς την Ιαπωνία. Από την άλλη μεριά του κόσμου έρχεται ένας αρχιτέκτονας με διαφορετική κουλτούρα και καταβολές, ο οποίος μάλιστα τα πρώτα χρόνια της πορείας του δυσκολευόταν να τοποθετηθεί εκτός Ιαπωνίας, που καλείται να επανερμηνεύσει μέσα από τη δική του αρχιτεκτονική ταυτότητα το υπάρχον κέλυφος. Και οι δύο τους κατατάσσονται στο ρεύμα του Κριτικού Τοπικισμού, τα έργα τους όμως μοίαζουν τόσο διαφορετικά- θα χαρακτηρίζαμε τον Scarpa ως bricoleur και τον Ando ως engineer- προκαλώντας ερωτήματα.	el
heal.abstract	Somewhere between West and East, land and sea, two architects were called to intervene in a historically stimulating setting and a stringent conservationist framework: the Italian Carlo Scarpa and the Japanese Tadao Ando; the former in 1966 and the latter 50 years later, both undertook to redevelop two historic shells of Venice to exhibition places-museums. As a true Venetian, Carlo Scarpa was inspired by the particular features of his town and had in-depth knowledge of the materials and styles of Venetian architecture, while at the same time he turned his eyes towards Japan. From the other end of the world came an architect with a different culture and roots, an architect who actually had difficulty in seeing himself outside Japan in the first steps of his career. He was called to reinterpret the existing shell through his own architectural identity. Two different architects, one common place. Both Carlo Scarpa and Tadao Ando belong to the same trend, Critical Regionalism and yet their works in Venice appear to be rather different – take Scarpa as a bricoleur and Ando as an engineer- a fact that raises questions	en
