heal.abstract	Η συγκεκριμένη μελέτη αφορά στο σχεδιασμό ενός κέντρου μαθητείας της τέχνης της πέτρας στο χώρο ενός ανενεργού λατομείου, στην περιοχή Εξοχή Μαστοροχωρίων Κόνιτσας. Η συγκεκριμένη περιοχή επιλέχθηκε για λόγους που έχουν να κάνουν αρχικά με τις μνήμες και την ιστορία του τόπου, καθώς τα Μαστοροχώρια υπήρξαν μία από τις μεγαλύτερες κοιτίδες μαστόρων της πέτρας στον ελλαδικό χώρο. Η διάσωση, η διατήρηση και η αναβίωση της τέχνης της πέτρας, μιας τέχνης που σταδιακά μετά τις δεκαετίες ’60-’70 εγκαταλείπεται, καθώς και η ενίσχυση της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης της περιοχής που γίνεται τα τελευταία χρόνια με την ήπια εκμετάλλευση των φυσικών της πόρων και του εναλλακτικού τουρισμού, συνέβαλαν εξίσου στην επιλογή της τοποθεσίας. Ενώ τέλος, το κέντρο μαθητείας συνιστά και μία απάντηση στη συνεχή ανάγκη των οικισμών για επισκευές και επανάχρηση του κτιριακού τους δυναμικού. Πιο αναλυτικά το ανενεργό λατομείο, ως χώρος επέμβασης, παρέχει τη δυνατότητα στους μαθητές της τέχνης της πέτρας να αποκτήσουν μία άμεση και βιωματική σχέση με το υλικό. Έχουν δηλαδή τη δυνατότητα να παρακολουθήσουν όλη τη διαδικασία της επεξεργασίας της πέτρας σε κάθε της βήμα, από την εξόρυξη και τη διαλογή της μέχρι τη λάξευση και το χτίσιμό της. Ταυτόχρονα όμως ικανοποιείται και η ανάγκη επανάχρησης και αξιοποίησης του λατομείου, ενός λατομείου από τα δεκάδες στο Ν. Ιωαννίνων, τα οποία αφημένα στο πέρασμα των χρόνων, εγκυμονούν πλέον κινδύνους τόσο για το περιβάλλον όσο και για τους κατοίκους της περιοχής.	el
heal.abstract	Objective of this project was to design a Stonemasonry school within the site of an inactive quarry, at Eksohi Mastorochorion Konitsas. The certain region was chosen for reasons that have primarily to do with the memories and the history of the place, as Mastorochoria have acted as one of the most important sources of stonemasons in Greece. The preservation and the revival of the art of stone, an art which has been gradually abandoned after the decades of ’60-’70, as well as supporting of the tourist development of the region have equally contributed to the site selection; the latter is lately achieved through the mild exploitation of its natural resources and the alternative forms of tourism. Last but not least, the school serves as an answer to the continuous need of small traditional settlements for reparations and re-use of their building potential. More specifically the inactive quarry, as a site of intervention, offers the possibility to students of the art of stone, to gain a more direct and experiential relationship with the material. This means that they get the chance to attend the whole procedure of stone processing step by step, from mining and sorting up to its final shaping and building. At the same time, the additional need for the re-utilization of the quarry is satisfied; a quarry among the dozens of quarries within the regional unit of Ioannina, which, left in the passing of time, do exhibit risks so for the environment as well as for the resident population.	en
