heal.abstract	Μέσα από την εργασία αυτή, πραγματοποιείται μια ιστορική αναδρομή και διερεύνηση της έννοιας του ma-κενού μέσα στην Ιαπωνική κουλτούρα, η οποία ξεκινά από την αρχαιότητα για να καταλήξει στη σύγχρονη εποχή και συγκεκριμένα στο έργο του Tadao Ando. Καθώς το κενό είναι μια αρχή κυρίαρχη στην Ιαπωνική φιλοσοφία, η προσέγγιση της γίνεται σφαιρικά, από πολλαπλούς τομείς (αισθητική, θρησκεία, αρχιτεκτονική, καθημερινή ζωή) με σκοπό μια πιο ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα. Σε ένα δεύτερο επίπεδο, για την καλύτερη κατανόηση της έννοιας του ma, επιχειρείται η σύνδεση της με υλοποιημένα/απτά παραδείγματα του χώρου της αρχιτεκτονικής, αφενός ιστορικά (sukiya-style, teahouses), αφετέρου σύγχρονα (κτίρια Ando), προκειμένου να διακριθούν και τα μορφολογικά στοιχεία και εργαλεία που συμμετέχουν στην απόδοση της. Σαν κατάληξη της διερεύνησης αυτής, έρχεται η αναφορά στο έργο του Ando, που λειτουργεί ως έμπρακτη απόδειξη της διαχρονικότητας και της σημασίας της έννοιας του κενού για τον Ιαπωνικό πολιτισμό. Με τον τρόπο αυτό, επιτυγχάνεται η ομαλή μετάβαση και σύνδεση μεταξύ παρελθόντος και παρόντος, αλλά και η αιτιολόγηση της φύσης των αρχιτεκτονικών μορφών και του τόσο ιδιαίτερου αρχιτεκτονικού λεξιλογίου της Ιαπωνίας.	el
heal.abstract	The aim of this project is to carry out a historical review and investigation of the concept of ma-void in the Japanese culture, starting from ancient times to the modern era and specifically through the work of Tadao Ando. As the void (emptiness) is a principal concept in the Japanese philosophy, this approach becomes spherical, of multiple domains (aesthetics, religion, architecture, daily life) for a complete picture. On a second level, in order to better understand the concept of ma, a connection is attempted with built examples of the architectural space, both historical (sukiya-style, teahouses) and modern (buildings Ando), in order to distinguish and morphological elements and tools involved in the rendering of the concept of ma. As an outcome of that investigation comes the work of Ando, which serves as tangible proof of the timelessness and importance of the concept of emptiness to the Japanese culture. In this way, the smooth transition and connection between past and present is achieved, as well as the explanation of the nature of the Japanese architectural forms and the so particular architectural vocabulary of Japan.	en
