heal.abstract	Το τεύχος αυτό αποτελεί κατ' αρχήν μια προσπάθεια διερεύνησης της ξύλινης κατασκευής, μέσω της σύνταξης ενός εγχειριδίου οικοδομικής, παρουσιάζοντας και αναλύοντας σχεδιαστικά και κατασκευαστικά προβλήματα, περιορισμούς καθώς και άλλους, γενικότερους παράγοντες που συνδέονται με τη χρήση του ξύλου ως δομικού υλικού σε μια κατασκευή. Δεν μας ενδιαφέρει λοιπόν η απλή απαρίθμηση κανόνων στατικής, ιδιοτήτων του ξύλου και "θεωρίας" γενικότερα, αλλά το πώς όλα αυτά αφορούν τον αρχιτέκτονα. Θα προσπαθήσουμε να αποδείξουμε πως στο σχεδιασμό με δομικό υλικό το ξύλο, ο τρόπος κατασκευής ανατροφοδοτεί τη συνθετική διαδικασία και το αντίστροφο, και πως η οικοδομική λεπτομέρεια δεν αποτελεί μόνο κατασκευαστική αναγκαιότητα αλλά κύρια αρχιτεκτονική έκφραση. Αφού πρώτα κάνουμε μια σύντομη ιστορική αναδρομή, θα προσπαθήσουμε να σκιαγραφήσουμε την κατάσταση που επικρατεί γύρω από τη ξύλινη κατασκευή στη χώρα μας. Θα παρουσιαστούν επίσης κάποιες βασικές αρχές και μια γενικότερη μεθοδολογία που θα πρέπει να έχει στο μυαλό του κάποιος που σχεδιάζει με ξύλο για πρώτη φορά, ταξινομώντας τις αρχές αυτές με βάση κάποιους παράγοντες συνυφασμένους με το ξύλο ως υλικό. Τέλος, θα προσπαθήσουμε να περάσουμε από τη γενική προσέγγιση στην ειδική και από τη θεωρία στην πράξη, προβάλλοντας τις αρχές αυτές εφαρμοσμένες μέσα από δυο παραδείγματα κτισμάτων με υλικό δόμησης το ξύλο.	el
heal.abstract	This paper constitutes, in principle, an effort to investigate the process of building with timber, through the drafting of a manual, presenting and analyzing design and construction problems, limitations and other, more generic factors associated with the use of wood as a building material. It is therefore not interested in the simple enumeration of structural engineering laws, physical properties of wood and "theory" in general, but in how all these relate to the architect. We will try to prove that, when using timber as a structural material, the construction method provides feedback to the architect’s design and vice versa, and that the detailing is not only a structural necessity but also, main architectural expression. After making a brief historical overview, we will try to outline the status of the timber construction practice in our country. We will then present some basic principles and a general methodology that should be in the mind of someone who designs with timber for the first time, sorting these principles based on some factors interwoven with the nature of wood and its materiality. Finally, we will pass from theory to practice, highlighting these principles as they are applied through two examples of buildings which make use of timber as building material.	en
