heal.abstract	Το θέμα της διπλωματικής αυτής εργασίας αφορά στη δημιουργία ενός μεγάλης κλίμακας δημόσιου κτιρίου που θα αναφέρεται στην τοπική κοινότητα. Το προτεινόμενο κτίριο έχει ως αρχή το θεσμό των κοινοτικών κέντρων όπως αυτά υπάρχουν και δρουν στις περισσότερες χώρες του ανεπτυγμένου κόσμου. Τα community center δηλαδή, εντοπίζουν τις ανάγκες του τοπικού κοινωνικού συνόλου και προσαρμόζουν το πρόγραμμά τους σε αυτές με απώτερο σκοπό την κάλυψή τους σε βαθμό ώστε να επιτυγχάνεται η ευημερία της περιοχής. Πεδίο μελέτης είναι το πολεοδομικό κέντρο του Αμαρουσίου Αττικής όπου μετά από επιτόπιες έρευνες και μια εκτενή πολεοδομική ανάλυση, εντοπίζουμε πρόσφορο έδαφος για την επιτυχία του θεσμού. Τα οικόπεδα που επιλέξαμε βρίσκονται σε κατακορυφήν θέση μεταξύ τους στις άκρες δύο γειτονικών οικοδομικών τετράγωνων, που διαχωρίζονται από ένα ζωτικής σημασίας πεζόδρομο εφόσον συνδέει την περιοχή κατοικίας με το εμπορικό κέντρο και τη ζώνη εκπαίδευσης του Δήμου με τοποθεσίες αναψυχής και πρασίνου. Ένα επαρκές δίκτυο συγκοινωνιών εξυπηρετεί τη θέση των οικοπέδων. Σημαντικός παράγοντας για την απαρχή της σύνθεσης αποτέλεσε η καταγραφή σημαντικών όμορων χρήσεων εκ των οποίων ξεχωρίζουν η ύπαρξη του ηλεκτρικού σιδηροδρόμου, του κέντρου τέχνης και πολιτισμού καθώς και η υπάρχουσα κατάσταση των οικοπέδων όπου στεγάζεται ένα κλειστό αθλητικό κέντρο και ένας υπαίθριος χώρος στάθμευσης αντίστοιχα. Η πρόθεση του Δήμου για ανάπλαση και ανακατασκευή στα δυο αυτά οικόπεδα, αποτέλεσε σημείο εκκίνησης του σεναρίου μας. Σε αυτό εντάσσουμε το πολιτιστικό κέντρο του Δήμου και θεωρούμε ότι συλλειτουργεί με τις συμπληρωματικές δράσεις που αναπτύσσει το Community Hub. Κατά το σχεδιασμό αφού πειραματιστήκαμε με πληθώρα γεωμετρικών μορφών, καταλήξαμε στη χρήση μιας ροϊκής καμπύλης φόρμας που συνεχίζεται και στα δύο οικόπεδα, ως εργαλείο που θα μας βοηθήσει να τα ενοποιήσουμε με αβίαστο τρόπο, κρατώντας πάντα κριτική ματιά στις μικρο-μετατοπίσεις ώστε να διατηρεί σωστές αισθητικά αναλογίες. Ωστόσο, θέτουμε ως σύμβαση η καμπύλη μορφή να παράγεται από τόξα κύκλων χωρίς να γίνεται αυτό αυτοσκοπός.	el
heal.abstract	The current dissertation thesis considers the creation of a large scale public building that will be introduced in a local community. The proposed building is supposed to function as an organization under the institution of ‘Community centers’ using as a template the way their whole structure works in some published cases. The institution in say, exist and act in most countries of the developed world. To begin with, the proposed scenario rendered the suburban municipality of Amaroyssion which belongs to the wider section of Attica Greece and it is located at the north west of the county, as the field of study. Moreover, a contacted, thorough, on-site, urban research, provided solid evidence of ‘fertile grounds’ for the introduction of such a communal organization. More specifically, we choose to unroll our proposition in the city’s center, due to the fact that many conditions were met there. The two sites selected are found in vertical, on top, connection from each other, in two neighboring square buildings. Moreover, a sufficient network of transport serves the area of interest. The mapping of important landmarks nearby, proved to be an essential factor for the launching of the architectural composition. Some of the most distinguished are, the existence of the electric railway across the first plot, the municipal cultural art center which communicates by a narrow, outdoor walkway, with the second plot, whereas last but not least, the existing poor-structured athletic center and the free unprotected public parking space that exist inside the two plots nowadays. So, even if built, the Municipality already expressed intention to reform and reconstruct this two plots. As the rather small local cultural center is concerned, we chose to include it into the operating scenario with the promise that it will coexist and work in addition with the future Community Building. During the creative design process we experimented with an abundance of geometric forms. We then were led to use fluent curvy forms that had as main characteristic the continuation in both the two plots. The forms were manipulated to unify the whole site with an effortless way, nonetheless keeping always a critical glance so that it would maintain balanced proportions, obeying easthetic rules and serving our intentions concerning the distribution of uses.	en
