heal.abstract	Η παρούσα Διπλωματική Εργασία διοργανώνεται από το Διατμηματικό Πρόγραμμα Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών της Αρχιτεκτονικής Σχολής του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου, ¨Προστασία Μνημείων¨, Α΄ Κατεύθυνση: Συντήρηση και Αποκατάσταση Ιστορικών Κτηρίων και Συνόλων. Αντικείμενο μελέτης αποτελεί η τεκμηρίωση (ιστορική και αρχαιολογική τεκμηρίωση, καταγραφή της κατάστασης διατήρησης και των προβλημάτων) και η διατύπωση μιας ολοκληρωμένης πρότασης Διαχείρισης –ανάδειξης και ενοποίησης- των αρχαιολογικών χώρων του Ορχομενού («Θησαυρός Μινύου», Θέατρο, Οχύρωση, Ναός Παναγίας Σκριπούς), με σκοπό τη συνολική και ουσιαστική προστασία τους έτσι ώστε να καταστούν όχι απλώς επισκέψιμοι αλλά ζωντανοί εκπαιδευτικοί χώροι, συμβαδίζοντας με τις σύγχρονες αντιλήψεις προστασίας, ανάδειξης και προβολής της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς.	el
heal.abstract	This project comprises the documentation (recognition of the existing situation condition and historic and archaeological documentation) and the management proposal of the monuments: the «Minias Treasury», theater of the 4rth century B.C., the Hellenistic defensive walls with a tower at the west end, and the church of the Panagia Skripou, that are included at the archaeological site of Orchomenos. The polis of Orchomenos lies in a strategic position dominating the wider area of the Copais basin. The archaeological site of Orchomenos is located at the east end of the Akontion ridge. The prosperity and the wealth of the city are mentioned in Homer, Strabo and Pausanias. The last one, visited the tholos tomb of the 13th century B.C., witch had a 30m. long road. The circular main chamber has 14m. diameter, and at its northeast side, is opened a small side room with a roof decoratd with spires, rodakes and papyrus flowers. At the north east of the tholos tomb, is located the early middle-Byzantine church of the Panagia Skripou. The building was first built in 873/4 and is constructed by using large stones, spolia from the neighboring archaeological site. Between these two monuments is located the theater of the ancient town, where was taken place Charetisia. The defensive walls of the 4th. century B.C., settled at the Akontion ridge, were reinforced from the Phillip the second. At the same time, was built the tower. The problems recorded at the monuments and there’s surrounding area are the existence of an illegal settlement called Dragatsoula in the limits of the archaeological site, west of the tholos tomb, the modern road of Miniou that separates the monuments, lack of a path leading to the tower and the defensive walls, decay of building materials, fractures, cracs, biological and environmental erosion, lack of basic facilities, lack of personnel etc. The vision of the management of Orchomenos archaeological site, is its conversion to an alive cell, while its main aim is the protection and enhancement of its monuments. This shall be accomplished, by the establishment of an archaeological park concerning the three monuments, and the unification of this park with the extended area of the fortification on the Akontion ridge. The proposed programme refers to conservation and restoration of the monuments, restoration of the theater, constant guarding, construction of a new path for the fortification, continuation of the research of the area that it is covered by the modern Minia road and the illegal settlement of Dragatsoula, methodical cleaning, installation of lighting, promotion through an information network, cultural activities etc. Therefore the aim is to become a living part of the modern city and to prove not only their values and memories of the past, but also their value in use inside the urban site.	en
