heal.abstract	Το μνημείο βρίσκεται στην ανατολική πλευρά της Ρωμαϊκής Αγοράς, προσκείμενο στην νότια πλευρά του Ωρολογίου του Κυρρήστου και χρονολογείται στα μέσα του 1ου αι. μ.Χ. Αρχικά, είχε ταυτιστεί με την πρόσοψη δημόσιου οικοδομήματος, του λεγόμενου ΄΄Αγορανομείου΄΄. Σύμφωνα με νεώτερες έρευνες πρόκειται για μία τρίτοξη πύλη, ένα πέρασμα, ανάμεσα σε δύο στοές και πάνω σε έναν άξονα που προϋπάρχει. Ένα αρχιτεκτονικό στοιχείο το οποίο χρονικά κτίζεται μετά το Ωρολόγιο του Κυρρήστου και την διαμόρφωση της ΡωμαΪκής Αγοράς, βρίσκεται στην συμβολή δύο σημαντικών αρχαίων δρόμων και τονίζει την σημασία ενός μεγάλου υπαίθριου χώρου που εκτείνεται προς τα ανατολικά και συνεχίζεται κάτω από την οδό Μάρκου Αυρηλίου. Στην σημερινή του μορφή διατηρούνται η κλίμακα ανόδου από το επίπεδο του ανατολικού προπύλου στο επίπεδο της πύλης, μέρος της πρόσοψής του με τις τρεις θύρες και τα τοξωτά υπέρθυρα καθώς και τμήματα του βόρειου και δυτικού τοίχου του. Σώζονται επίσης τέσσερις ενεπίγραφοι λίθοι του διαζώματος της στέψης της τοξοστοιχίας, (ο ένας των οποίων παραμένει κατά χώραν πάνω από τα επιστύλια), οι οποίοι φέρουν αφιέρωση στην Αρχηγέτιδα Αθηνά και τους Σεβαστούς θεούς. Η αρχή της επιγραφής, στην οποία θα πρέπει να αναγραφόταν το όνομα του κτηρίου, έχει χαθεί. Η τοξοστοιχία παρουσιάζει σημαντικά δομικά προβλήματα που σχετίζονται με τη φυσική φθορά-γήρανση του δομικού υλικού και τις μεταγενέστερες επεμβάσεις που έχει δεχθεί και οι οποίες έχουν αλλοιώσει την αρχική της μορφή. Το 1877 γίνονται επεμβάσεις στερέωσης στο μνημείο. Τοποθετούνται μεταλλικοί ελκυστήρες στα τοξωτά υπέρθυρα, πληρώνεται με οπτοπλινθοδομή το προς βορρά άνοιγμα ενώ αντηρίδα κτιστή από οπτοπλίνθους θα αντιστηρίξει τον ακριανό νότιο πεσσό. heal.abstract	The so-called Agoranomeion at the Roman Agora of Athens The so-called Agoranomeion is dated on the mid-first century A.D. and is situated at the east side of the Roman Agora of Athens, facing the eastern propylon of the Roman Agora. The identification with Agoranomeion was based on an arcuated lintel with an inscription included the word AΓΟΡΑΝΟΜΕΙΟΝ. The structure was not a building but a three-door gate, standing on a very important crossroad of the city and dedicated to Athena Archegetis. The foundation walls are of poros ashlar masonry. The step on which the doors stand, the antae and the semicircular arches are of hymettian marble. The anta capitals and the entablature are of the pentelic marble. Nowdays, are preserved a wide staircase, part of the three-door façade and parts of the northern and southern walls. The groundplan of the structure is not yet been ascertained since a big part of the eastern side of the structure is beneath the Markou Auriliou street. In the year 1887, the three-door gate was propped up by a combination of brick masonry blocking the central door frame, tie rods and a brick buttress, probably applied by a civil engineer, according to the common practice of that time. The restoration proposal, includes the followings : • The removal of the brick masonry from the central door frame, the brick buttress and the tie rusted iron rods • The dismantling, conservation and structural restoration of the architectural members of the arche • The rearrangement of the porous stones at the southern edge of the west foundation wall and the restoration of the stylobate along the west and the north foundation wall • The resetting of the architectural members of the arche in their original position • The supplementation of the arc T1 and the setting of a new pilaster Π0 to support the arc T1 and restore the northern door frame • The reconstruction part of the wide staircase • The backfill of the area between the two foundation walls and the border line of the archaeological site to the original stereobate level • The formation of a new access at M. Auriliou street, at the east side of the monument, on the axis of the three-arched gateway	en
