heal.abstract	Η αρχαία Σπάρτη σαν έννοια, ταυτισμένη με το θάρρος, την οργάνωση και την πειθαρχία του πολιτισμού που άκμασε στην κοιλάδα του Ευρώτα κατά την αρχαϊκή και κλασική αρχαιότητα, σήμερα αντιμετωπίζεται ως ένας σταθμός στην Ευρωπαϊκή ιστορία. Η αρχαία Σπάρτη σαν αρχαιολογικός χώρος έχει την ιδιαιτερότητα ότι βρίσκεται κατά μεγάλο βαθμό θαμμένη κάτω από την σύγχρονη πόλη. Τα μνημεία που σώζονται έχουν ανασκαφείι αποσπασματικά, και δύσκολα μπορεί ο επισκέπτης να σχηματίσει μια αντιπροσωπευτική εντύπωση για την μορφή της αρχαίας πόλης. Διαπιστώσαμε πως για να καταλάβει κανείς την αρχαία πόλη στην πιο ολοκληρωμένη δυνατή μορφή της θα πρέπει να συνδυάσει σαν κομμάτια παζλ όσα σώζονται σήμερα από το παρελθόν. Αποφασίσαμε πως αυτά τα κομμάτια είναι δυνατόν να ομαδοποιηθούν σε τρεις κυρίως ενότητες: τοτοπίο, το μνημείο και το έκθεμα. Επίσης, πως ο χώρος προσφέρεται για ένα ενδιαφέρον πείραμα: την ενοποίηση των παραπάνω κλιμάκων σε μια ενιαία αφήγηση, που μπορεί να συνδυάσει τον περίπατο στο τοπίο, την επίσκεψη στο μνημείο, και την μουσειακή εμπειρία. Η λειτουργία ενός διασπασμένου μουσείου άλλωστε συμβολίζει την ιδιότυπη οργάνωση του μυθικού Σπαρτιατικού κράτους, συστατικά στοιχεία του οποίου ήταν η ανεξαρτησία μεταξύ των κωμών που το αποτελούσαν, η έλλειψη τείχους, και ο υπαίθριος βίος. Η αφήγηση αυτή όμως παραμένει πάντα σε σύγκριση και αναφορά με την σημερινή πόλη. Οι δύο αστικές φάσεις, απόλυτα διακριτές ιστορικά αν και όχι χωρικά, μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν παράλληλα. Ο επισκέπτης καλείται να βιώσει το παρελθόν μέσα στο κυρίαρχο πλαίσιο του παρόντος.	el
heal.abstract	Ancient Sparta as a brand name is tightly bound to the values of bravery, military organization and discipline of the population that flourished in the valley of river Eurotas during the archaic and classical antiquity. Ancient Sparta as an archaeological site is particular because at a large extent it is buried under the ruins of the modern city. The remaining monuments have been fragmentally excavated, and the visitor can hardly form a representative image of the ancient city. After visiting the site, we concluded that in order to understand the form and function of the ancient city in the best possible way, the traces of the past should be combined as if they were puzzle pieces, These pieces can be classified in three groups: the landscape, which remains identical in all eras; the monuments, which still present evidence of ancient public and domestic architecture; and the thousands of artefacts, currently held in unsuitable locations throughout the city. Furthermore, the space seems ideal to conduct an interesting experiment: the integration of the three scales listed above in a single spatial narration: the promenade in the landscape, the monument visit, and the museum experience, all three can be combined as parts of a split and extended archaeological museum. The function of such a museum is also symbolic of the organization of the mythical Spartan state, which was characterized by the independence of its compositional settlements, the lack of wall and the outdoors living. The spatial narration, however should always be seen in comparison and relation to the modern city. The two urban phases, which are chronically but not spatially discrete, can nevertheless function in a parallel way. The visitor is invited to experience the past, while moving in the dominant modern city.	en
