heal.abstract	Αντικείμενο της εργασίας αποτελεί η ανασκόπηση της μακρόχρονης πορείας του Ελληνικού Οργανισμού Τουρισμού (Ε.Ο.Τ.), με έμφαση στο διεθνώς βραβευμένο πρόγραμμα των επεμβάσεων στα ιστορικά σύνολα, τις δεκαετίες 1970-1990. Για πρώτη φορά ενεργοποιείται ο δημόσιος φορέας για την προστασία του δομημένου- ανθρωπογενούς και του αδόμητου- φυσικού περιβάλλοντος, αλλά και της αειφόρου ανάπτυξης, με σκοπό την εξασφάλιση της ποιότητας ζωής και βιωσιμότητας για τον άνθρωπο. Εμφανής είναι η προσπάθεια οργάνωσης του τουρισμού, ως μια σύγχρονη και αναπτυσσόμενη μορφή οικονομίας. Οι αποκαταστάσεις του Ε.Ο.Τ. αποτέλεσαν σπουδαίο παράδειγμα στον τομέα των αποκαταστάσεων, «διδακτικό κληροδότημα» για τις επόμενες γενεές, στηριζόμενο στην αρχή της «ολοκληρωμένης προστασίας». Αναλύονται οι δύο οικισμοί της Οίας Σαντορίνης και της Βάθειας Μάνης, ως δύο εκ των πιο σημαντικών παραδειγμάτων τόσο για τις επεμβάσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν, όσο και για την περαιτέρω εξέλιξη τους, με την εισαγωγή μιας νέας μορφής οικονομίας, της τουριστικής. Πρωταρχικός στόχος είναι η συλλογή πληροφοριών, η ιστορική και αρχιτεκτονική τεκμηρίωση, η μελέτη των ιστορικών φάσεων, η προσπάθεια κατανόησης των χρήσεων και λειτουργιών, η παρατήρηση των μορφολογικών στοιχείων, των υλικών που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν, των «λύσεων» που εφαρμόστηκαν . Απώτερος στόχος είναι η κριτική των επεμβάσεων, η συνέπεια τους ως προς τις αρχές της διεθνούς δεοντολογίας, και τέλος η κριτική της τουριστικής αναπτυξιακής πολιτικής του Ε.Ο.Τ. στους δύο οικισμούς.	el
heal.abstract	The purpose of this study is the long term review of the Greek National Tourism Organization,(G.N.T.O.) with emphasis on the internationally award winning program of interventions to the traditional settlements, during 1970-1990. For the first time, a public entity is taking action for the protection of the structured-man-made and the unstructured-natural environment along with the sustainable development in order to ensure the quality of human life and sustainability. It is obvious that G.N.T.O. is trying to organize tourism as a new and growing part of economy. The interventions of G.N.T.O. are perfect examples in the restorations field and acted as a teaching legacy to the next generations, according to the principle of integrated protection. Two settlements are examined, Oia-Santorini and Vatheia-Mani. These two are the most significant examples, not only for the accomplished interventions but also for their further development with the insertion of tourism. Primary goal is the gathering of information, the historical and architectural documentation, the study of historical phases, the effort to understand the new uses of buildings, the observation of morphological elements, materials and solutions that were used. The ultimate goal is to discover whether the interventions and the touristic development policy applied by G.N.T.O to the two settlements were following the principles of international code of conduct.	en
