heal.abstract	Urban renewal and gentrification is corollary of the insertion of private investments and funds. This creates changes and rearrangements mainly on social structure in these areas. The purpose of this research is the spatio-temporal analysis of the social and financial rearrangements of living standard which take place in urban areas and, specifically in inner cities. As case study is considered the city of Athens and the spatial unit of reference is the census section. Σhe municipality of Athens is of particularly great importance as during the last thirty years appears changes as for social structure. The proposed methodological frame relies on the theories, the process and the parameters of gentrification such as rental status, education etc. The ultimate objective is the formation and the cartographic attribution of appropriate indicators which reflect the typology, the stage-degree and the perspective of gentrification – urban renewal in individual parts of the city. The data which are going to be used derive from the population censuses of 1991, 2001 and 2011.	el
