heal.abstract	Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία μελετάμε προβλήματα αρίστου ελέγχου για γραμμικά συστήματα με τετραγωνικά κόστη	el
heal.abstract	In this thesis we study optimal control problems for linear systems with quadratic regulators. Specically, in the first Chapter we introduce necessary de nitions and theorems such as, Lyapunov's Stability Theorem and La Salle Theorem. In the second Chapter we present Pontryagin's Maximum Principle Theorem and we give the proof for both bounded and undouned controls. In the third Chapter we introduce the regulator problem and by using Pontryagin's maximum principle theorem we present necessary and su cient conditions in order to be solved. Also, throught a series of proofs we de ne Riccati's di erential equation. In the fourth and last Chapter we deal with the in nite horizon problem. We apply this theory in order to stuby biological models that describe the control of blood glucose for diabetics.	en
