heal.abstract	Η εργασία πραγματεύεται το δια βίου κόστος εκμετάλλευσης των εμπορικών πλοίων κατά τη φάση κατασκεύης τους , κατά τη φάση λειτουργίας τους και κατά τη φάση διάλυσης τους. Για την πλήρη περιγραφή της ανάλυσης του κόστος γίνεται χρήση προσεγγιστικών θεωρητικών τύπων και διαγραμμάτων με πραγματικά οικονομικά στοιχεία.	el
heal.abstract	The first chapter is an introduction to maritime trade and the entire shipping industry. At the beginning a reference is being made to the relationship of maritime trade in the global economy and the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the country. Then the factors affecting the operating cost of the ship are presented, as the ship type, size and age. Subsequently the types of ships depending on the type of load carrying and categories of vessels according to their size are presented. The next section is a detailed description of two types: tankers and bulk ships carriers. At the final part of this chapter a reference is being made to the principles and ship design criteria such as design cost-based, design based maintenance etc. The second chapter deals with the construction cost - ship acquisition. First there is a reference to the main categories of construction costs, the percentage participation in the total cost configuration and the calculation of the initial investment in the acquisition of the ship. We then analyze the above categories and shows the ways of calculating the cost of each category. Subsequently, an example of calculation of the construction cost is given for a particular tanker type ship. At the end of the second chapter real ship sale data are presented and explanations of the variation in the price per year is given. The third chapter is a description of the ship operating costs. The main categories of operating expenses are being presented as well the factors affecting the cost of each category. Subsequently the temporal variations of the daily cost of each category for different types of vessel and for the time period 1997-2006 are being reflected in charts. Also the temporal variation of the percentage cost of each category compared with the total operating costs of each category for different types of vessel and for the time period 1997-2006 are being depicted in charts. The fourth chapter deals with the scrapping market. Initially, reference is made to the factors that influence the scrapping market as well as the calculation of the ship's selling price for dismantling. Then thoroughly analyze fluctuations in the number of vessels (by category and type of ship) given for dissolution according to the financial data each year. Finally we explain why the average age of the ships of each type and category is significantly reduced in recent years.	en
