heal.abstract	Η παρούσα μελέτη έχει ως βασικό αντικείμενο τη διερεύνηση της σχέσης των σύγχρονων επεμβάσεων σε ανοιχτούς δημόσιους χώρους (πλατείες) ιστορικών κέντρων, με το ευρύτερο ιστορικό περιβάλλον και το παρελθόν τους. Επιχειρείται η έρευνα, καταγραφή και ανάλυση σύγχρονων παραδειγμάτων αρχιτεκτονικών παρεμβάσεων σε ιστορικά κέντρα πόλεων, τα οποία επιλέγονται με συγκεκριμένα κριτήρια και αποτελούν έργα με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον. Οι σύγχρονες αυτές αρχιτεκτονικές επεμβάσεις αναφέρονται σε συνολικές αναπλάσεις υφιστάμενων πλατειών, οι οποίες βρίσκονται κεντρικά των πόλεων και όχι σε παραλιακά μέτωπα, αποτελούν κεντρικά σημεία της ζωής των κατοίκων και περιβάλλονται στην περιίμετρό τους από κτίρια ιστορικής και πολιτιστικής σημασίας. Στόχος είναι να μελετηθούν οι τρόποι που η σύγχρονη αρχιτεκτονική αντιμετωπίζει τα ζητήματα επεμβάσεων σε πλατείες και λοιπούς ανοιχτούς δημόσιους χώρους εντός ιστορικού περιβάλλοντος και η επιρροή που αυτή έχει σε κάθε περίπτωση. Επιχειρείται λοιπόν, η ερμηνεία και ανάλυση των διαφορετικών τρόπων προσέγγισης της σύγχρονης αρχιτεκτονικής υπαίθριων χώρων συνάθροισης σε ιστορικό περιβάλλον και η ανάδειξη βασικών στοιχείων που συνθέτουν μια «επιτυχημένη» σχεδιαστικά, λειτουργικά, κοινωνικά, αισθητικά και αντιληπτικά πλατεία. Ο εντοπισμός και η ανάλυση της σχέσης της εκάστοτε πλατείας με το παρελθόν και περιβάλλον της και η ένταξή της στο γενικότερο πλαίσιο και τη ζωή της πόλης αποτελούν βασικά σημεία στην πορεία της συγκεκριμένης εργασίας.	el
heal.abstract	The following study has as a main objective to look into the relationship of modern interventions in open public areas (squares) of historical centers with their broader historical environment and their past. We venture the research, the recording and the analysis of modern examples of architectural interventions in historical city centres which are chosen according to certain criteria and are of exquisite interest. These modern architectural interventions refer to the complete reformation of squares which are located in central city spots and not in coastal areas. They comprise central points of the resident's lives and are surrounded in their perimeter by buildings of historical and cultural significance. The main target is to study the ways in which modern architecture deals with matters of interventions in squares and other open public areas within a historical surrounding and the influence which this has in every case. We venture the explanation and the analysis of different ways to approach the modern architecture of open-air gathering areas whithin a historical environment and the distinction of basic elements which compose a "successful" in terms of design, function, social role, aesthetics and perception, square. Tracking down and analysing the relationship of each square with its past, its environment and its integration with the general bounds and the life of the city, comprise basic points for the course of this particular project.	en
