heal.abstract	Η παρούσα ερευνητική εργασία έχει σαν στόχο την παρουσίαση της θεωρίας και της πρακτικής της αστικής γεωργίας, καθώς και τη διερεύνηση της θέσης και του ρόλου της στον σχεδιασμό βιώσιμων πόλεων. Αρχικά, παρουσιάζονται διάφορες μορφές της αστικής καλλιέργειας, και πρακτικές εφαρμογής της με παραδείγματα κυρίως από το εξωτερικό. Στη συνέχεια, γίνεται αναφορά στην εμφάνιση της αστικής γεωργίας, μέσα στον αστικό ή περιαστικό ιστό, με τη μορφή δημοτικών αστικών αλλά και αυτοδιαχειριζόμενων λαχανόκηπων. Σημαντικά είναι τα οφέλη της αστικής γεωργίας στον οικονομικό, τον κοινωνικό και τον περιβαλλοντικό τομέα, ενώ είναι αναγκαίο να ληφθούν υπόψη κάποιοι περιορισμοί και προϋποθέσεις για τη σωστή εφαρμογή της. Επιπλέον, εξετάζεται κατά πόσο είναι αναγκαίος ο ρόλος του αρχιτέκτονα τοπίου στον σχεδιασμό της αστικής γεωργίας. Σε δεύτερη φάση, γίνεται αναφορά στις δύο κατηγορίες σχεδιασμού της αστικής γεωργίας, στον top-down και στον bottom-up και στην ανάγκη για θέσπιση ενός πολιτικού πλαισίου κανονισμών και νομοθεσίας για την θεσμική κατοχύρωση της αστικής γεωργίας. Παράλληλα, σχολιάζονται οι βασικές αρχές και στρατηγικές σχεδιασμού της. Τέλος, η εργασία εστιάζει στην επιτόπια μελέτη στο Δημοτικό Αστικό Λαχανόκηπο του Αγίου Δημητρίου. Καταλήγουμε σε κάποιες ιδέες, προτάσεις, συνθετικά εργαλεία, και εν τέλει σε μία στρατηγική αντιμετώπισης του χώρου σε πιλοτικό επίπεδο, με σκοπό την βελτίωση των υποδομών και των εγκαταστάσεων του χώρου, απαντώντας, έτσι, στο ερώτημα πόσο σημαντικός είναι ο ρόλος του αρχιτέκτονα.	el
heal.abstract	The aim of the current thesis is the to present the theory and practice of urban agriculture, as well as the examination of its position and its role in the designing of viable cities. Initially, various forms of urban agriculture are being presented, alongside with examples of such applications, mainly from other countries. Then, follows a reference on the appearance of urban agriculture within the urban or suburban net with the form of either community gardens or gardens, that have been occupied illegally by organizations. The benefits of urban agriculture are important to the economy, the society and the environment, while it is also mandatory to consider certain limitations and preconditions for its proper application. The importance of the landscape architect’s role in the design of urban agriculture is being contemplated. The two categories of design approaches towards urban agriculture are being presented (top-down and bottom-up), which lead to the necessity of the establishing of political assortment of rules and legislation for the institutional consolidation of urban agriculture. The essential principles and strategies concerning the design process are being discussed. Finally, the thesis focuses on the on-the-spot study at the Municipal Urban Vegetable Garden of Agios Dimitrios. Some ideas and propositions are being reached, as well as some design tools, and conclusively a strategy of regarding the space, aiming towards the improvement of infrastructure and facilities of the area. The overall importance of the architect’s role is being assessed.	en
