heal.abstract	Η διπλωματική διαπραγματεύεται μια επέμβαση στο χώρο του εργοστασίου και μηχανοστασίου του ΟΣΕ, που βρίσκεται στην περιοχή Λεύκα του Δήμου Πειραιά και προβλέπεται να μεταφερθεί σε νέες εγκαταστάσεις στο Θριάσιο. Η μεταφορά αυτή έχει ως συνέπεια να δημιουργηθεί στην περιοχή ένα αστικό κενό – μια νεκρή ζώνη για την πόλη. Αυτή εντείνεται ακόμη περισσότερο από τη γραμμή του προαστιακού, που διαπερνά το οικόπεδο μας και αποκόπτει τις δύο περιοχές κατοικίας που βρίσκονται εκατέρωθεν αυτού. Στόχος μας είναι η ενσωμάτωσή του στον περιβάλλοντα αστικό ιστό δημιουργώντας συνδέσεις με την πόλη και χωροθετώντας νέες χρήσεις. Με τον τρόπο αυτό θα μπορούσαν να συνδεθούν οι δύο περιοχές κατοικίας και το οικόπεδό μας να αποτελέσει τη γέφυρα ανάμεσά τους. Παράλληλα, θέλουμε να αναδείξουμε το εργοστάσιο και μηχανοστάσιο που μαζί με τα παρακείμενα εργοστάσια Ρετσίνα και Δηλαβέρη, αποτελούν ένα εν δυνάμει εξαιρετικό σύνολο. Ουσιαστικά διαχειριζόμαστε τον κενό χώρο του οικοπέδου, δηλ. τον αρνητικό χώρο που έχει προκύψει από τα κτίρια. Ορίζουμε κινήσεις και στάσεις και προτείνουμε νέες λειτουργίες με στόχο τη δημιουργία ενός πόλου τοπικής και υπερτοπικής σημασίας που θα αποδοθεί στην πόλη. Δεν επεμβαίνουμε στα υπάρχοντα κελύφη, χωροθετούμε όμως σε αυτά νέες χρήσεις και λαμβάνουμε υπόψη μας τα χαρακτηριστικά τους ( όγκος, διάταξη στο χώρο, είσοδοι κλπ.). Στην επέμβασή μας δουλεύουμε με στοιχεία που έχουμε αντλήσει από το ίδιο το βιομηχανικό τοπίο, όπως τα υλικά, οι ράγες των τρένων, η κίνηση και η κλίμακα.	el
heal.abstract	Our diploma project deals with the area of OSE’s factory and engine-house, which are situated in Leuka of Piraeus and are to be transferred to a new plant in Thriasio. This transfer results to the formation of a large urban vacancy – a dead zone of the town, in other words. The vacancy formed will seem to be even bigger as the suburban train line, which penetrates our field, cuts the residential area around it down in two pieces. Our goal is its integration into the urban area, by creating connections with the town and allocating certain uses. This way the two residential areas can be joined and, therefore, our site can play the role of the bridge between them. Simultaneously, the role of the factory will be illustrated, which in combination with the adjacent factories of Retsina and Dilaverh, have a great potential. In fact we are dealing with the vacant area of the field, in other words with the negative space resulted by the buildings inside it. We provide movements and places for entertainment. Additionally we propose new functions aiming to develop a pole of reference concerning not only the local area but also the whole town. We do not interfere with the interior of the existing buildings. Nevertheless, we propose their new functions taking into account their characteristics (the size, the arrangement of buildings, their entrances etc). We work with elements which have been derived from the industrial landscape, such as the materials, the rails, the movement and the scale.	en
