The present work covers two specific topics of the geotechnical engineering. Initially, it focuses on the stability analysis of diaphragm wall trenches. A state of the art is presented and
the main calculation methods are discussed in detail. An evaluation of an internal software is performed and the results are compared to those resulting from finite element calculation. An
application of these methods in two real cases is eventually presented. The second part of this report refers to the effects of polymer and bentonite support fluids on soil-concrete interface shear strength. “Trilayers” consisted of soil-interface-concrete are prepared in the laboratoryunder certain conditions and shear tests are performed in a shear box apparatus. Results are discussed and the impact of the related parameters is derived. |
