heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία, προσεγγίζει ζητήματα που αφορούν στο νότιο κομμάτι του Κυπαρισσιακού κόλπου. Πρόκειται για μια περιοχή που διακρίνεται τόσο για τα ευαίσθητα οικοσυστήματα όσο και για την απέραντη ενιαία παραλία της, τμήμα της οποίας συνιστά τον πυρήνα ωοτοκίας της θαλάσσιας χελώνας caretta-caretta. Από το ξεκίνημά μας, γεννήθηκαν ερωτήματα και προβληματισμοί για τον τόπο: Τι σημαίνει προστασία, και πώς αυτή επιτυγχάνεται; Μπορεί με σωστή διαχείριση να προστατεύεται και συνάμα να αναδεικνύεται και να αναπτύσσεται με όρους βιωσιμότητας; Ποια είναι η σχέση του ανθρώπου με τη φύση; Η πλειοψηφία των ντόπιων κατοίκων αγνοεί παντελώς την ευαισθησία και τα χαρακτηριστικά γνωρίσματα της περιοχής, ενώ βλέπουμε πως πολλοί νέοι επιστρέφουν σε αυτήν, για να βρουν απασχόληση. Μήπως υπάρχει ένα κατάλληλο πλάνο που να συνδυάζει την προστασία της φύσης και τη συμβίωση των ανθρώπινων δραστηριοτήτων με τα οικοσυστήματα, ξεφεύγοντας από τη σημερινή κατάσταση άγνοιας της περιοχής; Ως προς τη δομή της εργασίας: Έχοντας επιλέξει ως περιοχή μελέτης τον πυρήνα ωοτοκίας της θαλάσσιας χελώνας , μεταξύ Νέδας και Αρκαδικού, αρχικά βλέπουμε πώς αρθρώνεται στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Κυπαρισσιακού Κόλπου. Με την κρίση μας επινοούμε στοιχεία αξιολόγησης, προκειμένου να καταλήξουμε σε συμπεράσματα που αφορούν στην π.μελέτης και το σύνολο του Κόλπου. Με γνώμονα τα ίδια εργαλεία και περνώντας σε μικρότερη κλίμακα, εμβαθύνουμε στην περιοχή του πυρήνα ωοτοκίας. Μέσω της αξιολόγησης των στοιχείων της ανάλυσης, των προβλημάτων, των ιδιαιτεροτήτων και του συγκριτικού πλεονεκτήματος του τόπου, προκύπτει ένα συνολικό σενάριο πρότασης που στόχο έχει την προστασία και την ανάδειξη. Εκτός της ζώνης προστασίας και μακριά από τα εύθραυστα οικοσυστήματα, προβλέπεται ένα Κέντρο Περιβαλλοντικής Εκπαίδευσης (Κ.Π.Ε.) με συγκεκριμένο ρόλο και λειτουργία στο σενάριο πρότασης. Εστιάζουμε σε αυτό δουλεύοντας σε κλίμακες αρχιτεκτονικού σχεδιασμού.	el
heal.abstract	The current dissertation, approaches issues concerning the southern area of Kyparissia Bay. It is about a geographical zone known for its fragile ecosystems as well as its vast beach, a part of which consists the nesting core of the Caretta-Caretta turtle. From the beginning of this essay, we investigate issues concerning the particular area such as the following: What is environmental protection and how is this achieved? Could this place be protected and at the same time be exploited and developed under terms of sustainability? How can human coexist with nature? The majority of local habitants ignore completely the particularities of the area while many youngsters invest their professional future in it. Could it be a suitable plan combining the environmental protection with the human activities related to the ecosystem? How could the locals become aware and motivated about the special characteristics of the area? The project structure: Having chosen the Caretta-Caretta nesting core (the zone extended in between Neda and Arkadikos rivers) as a principal subject, we observe how it is related to the totality of the Kyparissia Bay. Through this process we consider evaluation criteria in order to make conclusions about the problematics and the characteristics of the area. Using the same evaluation principles, we focus on the nesting core. Taking into account the problems, the particularities and the counting advantage of the area, we propose a masterplan aiming at the site’s protection and prominence. As a final suggestion, we recommend the creation of an Environmental Education Centre, placed far from the protection zone and the fragile ecosystems. This centre will hold a principal role in the masterplan scenario and we will be focusing on it working with different scales of architectural design.	en
