heal.abstract	Το θέμα της διπλωματικής αφορά την προσέγγιση ενός τόπου με πλούσια μεταλλευτική και εξορυκτική ιστορία στα θειωρυχεία του Παλιορέματος στη Μήλο. Η περιοχή αυτή αποτελεί άγονο τοπίο περιτριγυρισμένο από άγρια βουνά και απότομα βράχια με δύσκολη πρόσβαση. Τα θειωρυχεία λειτούργησαν από τον 18ο αι. μέχρι το 1958. Ο σχεδιασμός των κτιρίων και οι ροές των κινήσεων στον χώρο σχετίζονται με την πορεία του μεταλλεύματος και την παραγωγική διαδικασία. Ξεκινώντας τη δική μας προσέγγιση στο Παλιόρεμα ερευνήσαμε τα στοιχεία του τόπου, όπως ο πύργος, η σχισμή και κυρίως ο τοίχος αντιστήριξης που συγκρατεί σε διάφορα σημεία το έδαφος. Μέσα από αυτά τα στοιχεία ξεκινήσαμε να προσεγγίζουμε τον τόπο με τη δημιουργία μιας περιπατητικής διαδρομής που ακολουθεί τα χνάρια της υπάρχουσας. Η διαδρομή διαμορφώνεται με τοίχους αντιστήριξης που συγκρατούν το χώμα, ενώ ξεκινά και καταλήγει με το στοιχείο του πύργου. Όσον αφορά τα θειωρυχεία επιλέγουμε να γίνουν ορισμένες επεμβάσεις ώστε να μην επεκταθεί η φθορά τους. Επιπλέον, προτείνουμε την δημιουργία ξενώνων για φοιτητές μεταλλειολόγους, όπου θα φιλοξενούνται κατά τη διάρκεια της πρακτικής τους. Αρχική συνθετική ιδέα είναι η δημιουργία ενός μη-κτιρίου με δύο τοίχους αντιστήριξης που πλαισιώνουν εκατέρωθεν το κτίριο. Έτσι έχουμε ένα υπόσκαφο κτίριο, το οποίο αποτελεί μια γραμμική χειρονομία, συνέχεια της διαδρομής, με εκατέρωθεν χρήσεις. Το κτίριο καταλήγει σε ένα ακρότατο σημείο - πρόβολο στον οποίο ο επισκέπτης μπορεί να αγναντέψει τη θέα. Από τη μια πλευρά του διαδρόμου, στο βόρειο όγκο του κτιρίου βρίσκεται ένας εκθεσιακός χώρος, ενώ στον όροφο ένα μικρό αναγνωστήριο. Στο νότιο όγκο τοποθετούνται ένας κοινόχρηστος χώρος με αναψυκτήριο, ένα αμφιθέατρο και εκπαιδευτικοί χώροι. Στον όροφο βρίσκονται τα δωμάτια των φοιτητών. Στόχος είναι εναρμόνιση του υπόσκαφου κτιρίου στο φυσικό τοπίο και τη διαδρομή που δημιουργήσαμε με σεβασμό στο βιομηχανικό μνημείο.	el
heal.abstract	The subject of this thesis project concerns the approach of a place with a rich mining history in the sulfur mines of Paliorema in Milos. This area is a barren landscape surrounded by wild mountains and steep rocks with difficult access. The sulfur mines operated from the 18th century until 1958. The design of the buildings and the flows of space movements are related to the course of the sulfur and the production process. Starting our approach to Paliorema, we investigated the elements of the site, such as the tower, the slit, and especially the retaining wall that holds the soil in various places. Through these elements we began to approach the site by creating an ambulatory route that follows the footsteps of the existing one. The path is formed with retaining walls that hold the soil, while it starts and ends with the element of tower. As for the sulfur mines, we choose to do some interventions to prevent their destruction. In addition, we propose the creation of a miners’ hostel, where they can be hosted during their practice. The initial synthetic idea is the creation of a non-building with two retaining walls that surround the building on both sides. So we have a subterranean building, which is a linear gesture, a continuation of the route, with uses on both sides. The building ends at an extreme point - a cantilever on which the visitor can gaze at the view. On the one side of the corridor, in the north of the building there is an exhibition area, while on the first floor there is a small reading room. In the southern volume of the building there is a communal space with a cafeteria, classrooms and an auditorium for educational use. On the floor there are the students' rooms. The aim is to harmonize the non-building in the natural landscape and the itinerary we created with respect to the industrial monument.	en
