Η καταγραφή αυτή έχει σκοπό να παρουσιάσει τη σπουδαιότητα της πόλης δια μέσου των αιώνων, το ρόλο της στα γεγονότα και την ανάδειξη του λιμανιού της ως το σημαντικότερο στη Δυτική Ελλάδα.	el
