heal.abstract	Ο ναός του Επικούριου Απόλλωνα στην Βάσσες αποτελεί το πρώτο μνημείο της Ελλάδας που περιλαμβάνεται στην λίστα πολιτισμικής κληρονομιάς της UNESCO και το τελευταίο έργο του Ικτίνου. Συγκεντρώνει μία πληθώρα καινοτομιών και μοναδικών στοιχείων ώστε είναι ικανός να προσφέρει μια διαφορετική οπτική στην αντίληψη της αρχαιοελληνικής αρχιτεκτονικής. Το πρόβλημα που αντιμετωπίζει η διπλωματική εργασία είναι μια σειρά λάθος χειρισμών στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο και το βασικότερο την ανάγκη καθαίρεσης της αδιαφανούς τέντας που καλύπτει το ναό. Μελετώνται οι συνθήκες σχεδιασμού του αρχαϊκού ιερού συνόλου των Βασσών προγενέστερο του ναού, και σε συνδυασμό με τις σχεδιαστικές επιλογές του κλασσικού ναού που επανανοηματοδοτούν το τόπο, προτείνεται ένα νέο ερμηνευτικό πλαίσιο και με βάση αυτό αξιολογείται και επανασχεδιάζεται ο αρχαιολογικός χώρος. Λόγω (α) της άρρηκτης σχέσης ναού-τοπίου ως ενιαίο μνημείο, (β) της παθολογίας του υλικού και (γ) των ιδιαιτέρων καιρικών συνθηκών, απορρίπτεται κάθε τοπιακή παρέμβαση και ουσιαστικά σχεδιάζεται η εργοταξιακή υποδομή συνεχούς συντήρησης του ναού. Η πρόταση βρίσκεται σε ένα ρεαλιστικό σενάριο επέμβασης, το οποίο όμως δεν θίγει την υπόσταση του ναού, αλλά αντίθετα σχεδιάζεται αυστηρά βάσει των μορφολογικών και εννοιολογικών κριτηρίων που επιβάλλει το ίδιο το μνημείο.	el
heal.abstract	The Temple of Epicurious Apollo in Bassae is the first monument of Greece included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the last work of Iktinos. It introduces a complex variety of innovative design elements, and so it is able to offer a different perspective regarding ancient Greek architecture. The problem that triggered the diploma thesis is a series of mistakes made in the archaeological site and most importantly the need to remove the opaque canopy that covers the temple. The analysis of the spatial design of the earlier archaic sanctuary in Bassae in combination with the design of the classical temple that redefined the site, offered a renewed contextual framework for the interpretation of the temple and the lansdcape together as one whole monument. Based on this, the archaeological site is evaluated and redesigned. Due to (a) the inextricable relationship between the temple and the landscape as a single monument, (b) the pathology of the material and (c) the special weather conditions, further landscape interventions are rejected and the proposal consists of reconstruction infrastructures for the continuous preservation of the temple. The proposal is placed in a realistic scenario, while not affecting the status of the temple, but instead, it is strictly designed based on the morphological and conceptual criteria imposed by the monument itself.	en
