heal.abstract	Αντικείμενο μελέτης της διπλωματικής εργασίας αποτελεί ο σχεδιασμός ενός ναυπηγείου για ξύλινα σκάφη στο Βόλο. Με αφορμή τη συνεχή υποβάθμιση της αξίας του ξύλινου σκάφους και της ξυλοναυπηγικής τέχνης σήμερα, σχεδιάζεται ένας τόπος θεραπείας για το καΐκι που καταστρέφεται. Με θέα την πόλη του Βόλου το ναυπηγείο τοποθετείται στη θέση των παλαιών ναυπηγείων που ολοκληρώνουν το φυσικό κοίλο του λιμανιού. Η παρέμβαση αποτελεί συνέχεια της μεταβαλλόμενης ακτογραμμής του λιμανιού και εντάσσεται στο συνεχές της παράδοσης ενός τόπου που εξελίσσεται σύμφωνα με τις ανάγκες του ναυπηγείου. Λειτουργικές ανάγκες και ανάγκες τοπίου συντίθενται για να δημιουργήσουν στο σύνολο έναν νέο τόπο που απευθύνεται αφενός στο καΐκι, αφετέρου στην πόλη. Η έννοια της θεραπείας του καικιού στο ναυπηγείο αισθητοποιείται με την υποχώρηση της γης σε σχέση με τη θάλασσα για να το υποδεχτεί μέσω ενός κεκλιμένου επιπέδου, της γλίστρας. Η ρωγμή στο λόφο του οικοπέδου, μία ασυνέχεια στο τοπίο από την άκριτη επέκταση της ναυπηγικής δραστηριότητας, σχηματοποιείται για να υποδεχτεί τη γλίστρα γύρω από την οποία οργανώνεται ο κεντρικός χώρος εργασιών. Οι υπόλοιπες λειτουργίες του ναυπηγείου οργανώνονται πίσω από έναν τοίχο, θεραπεύοντας την πληγή του λόφου καθιστώντας τον κατοικίσιμο. Τέλος, η συρραφή κτιρίου και τόπου ολοκληρώνεται με την παρουσία του στεγάστρου καθώς και με την εγκάρσια προς τον τοίχο διαδρομή που συνδέει το ναυπηγείο με ένα “νεκροταφείο” ξύλινων σκαφών.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma project concerns the design of a boatyard for wooden vessels in the city of Volos. Having our attention captured by the constant degradation of the value that wooden vessels have in Greece, we design a place for the boat to cure. Facing the city of Volos, the synthesis is located in the position of the old boatyards that completes the shape of the natural cavity of the port. Our intervention contributes to the constant transformation of the coastline of the port and at the same time becomes a part of the continuous tradition of a place that changes according to the demands of the boatyard. Both functional and spatial correlations are combined in order to create a new place that addresses not only the boat but also the city itself. Curing an “injured” vessel can only be succeeded by the presence of an inclined plane called slip, that symbolizes the retreat of the earth from the sea in order to welcome the boat. The crevice of the cliff in the site, as a result of the careless expansion of the old boatyard, is shaped in order to host the slip, around which the main sheltered working space is located. The rest of the facilities are organized behind the wall in a way that aims to heal the wound of the cliff by inhabiting it. Finally, a route vertical to the axis of the wall connects the boatyard with the site and leads to a “cemetery” for wooden vessels.	en
