heal.abstract	Η παρούσα Διπλωματική εργασία ασχολείται με τον ποταμό Έρκυνα στο κέντρο της πόλης της Λιβαδειάς και την παραποτάμια περιοχή που διασχίζει την πόλη από Νότο προς Βορρά. Αρχικά μελετήθηκε η σύνδεση της Έρκυνας με την πολεοδομική εξέλιξη της πόλης μέσα στον χρόνο και η σημασία της ύπαρξης τρεχούμενου ορμητικού νερού για την βιομηχανική ανάπτυξη της πόλης. Στην συνέχεια αναλύθηκε η σημερινή κατάσταση των παραποτάμιων υποπεριοχών όσων αφορά στην σχέση τους με το δομημένο περιβάλλον και ταυτόχρονα ως ένα αυτοτελές σύστημα ποταμού, κοίτης και οχθών. Μέσα από την καταγραφή ανενεργών σημείων της παρόχθιας ζώνης παράλληλα με την μελέτη κοινωνικοοικονομικών παραμέτρων από την πραγματικότητα της πόλης σήμερα, έγινε μια προσπάθεια πολύπλευρου σχεδιασμού πάνω στον άξονα του ποταμού. Ο σχεδιασμός αυτός επιχειρεί να παρέμβει ήπια στο υφιστάμενο φυσικό και δομημένο τοπίο της πόλης, να επανερμηνεύσει την σχέση τους και κατανοώντας τον τρόπο που λειτουργεί η πόλη σήμερα και την δυναμική της, να επαναπροσδιορίσει τους παρόχθιους κοινόχρηστους χώρους και να προτείνει νέες χρήσεις σε κενά κελύφη κτισμένα στις όχθες. Στόχος είναι η δημιουργία ενός δικτύου κοινόχρηστων χώρων κατά μήκος του ποταμού και η σύνδεσή τους με το φυσικό περιαστικό πράσινο του φαραγγιού ως μια «πράσινη ζώνη» στο κέντρο της πόλης που θα λειτουργεί ως ζώνη προστασίας για το ποτάμι και ως πυρήνας πρασίνου και δροσισμού για την πόλη. Παράλληλα, επιδιώκεται η ενίσχυση του αγροτικού και εμπορικού ρόλου της πόλης και της παλαιάς αγοράς στο κέντρο της πόλης με την ενίσχυση των υφιστάμενων χρήσεων και δημιουργία ενός θεσμικού πλαισίου προσωρινών χρήσεων κατά μήκος του ποταμού στα ανενεργά κτηριακά κελύφη. Ως απώτερος στόχος του σχεδιασμού τίθεται η δημιουργία ταυτότητας της Έρκυνας, η ενίσχυση της ταυτότητας της Λιβαδειάς και κυρίως η βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής των κατοίκων.	el
heal.abstract	This master thesis concerns the river Erkyna in the center of the town Livadia in Greece and the riparian area crossing the town from the South to the North. At first, a long research has been conducted on the connection of the river with the urban development of the town throughout time and the significance of running water for the industrial growth of the place. Subsequently, the current situation of the riversides was analyzed concerning their connection with the urban environment but also as an independent system of a river, a river bed and the riverside. Then, through the analysis of the inactive places of the riparian area together with the social, cultural and financial parameters of the town’s reality, a versatile urban design was developed along the river axis. The design attempts to intervene gently to the existing natural and built environment, to redefine their relation and after understanding the way the town works today and its future potentials, to redefine the public riparian areas and suggest new uses in vacant buildings along the river. The design aims to create a network of public spaces next to the river and to connect them to the peri-urban natural green area of the gorge on the South. This would lead to a “green corridor” in the town center which would work as a protection zone for the river and as a core of vegetation and natural cooling for the town. At the same time, it is intended to strengthen the role of the town as an agricultural and commercial center as well as to get the old market of the town back to a lively and significant commercial place. In order to achieve this, the design suggests the support of the existing commercial uses together with an institutional framework of temporary uses in the vacant and derelict buildings along the river. Finally, the ultimate aim of the design is the formation of an identity for the river Erkyna, to strengthen the identity of the town but most particularly to improve the quality of life of the residents.	en
