heal.abstract	Το θέμα της διπλωματικής μας εργασίας αναφέρεται στην πλατεία της Ομόνοιας, μιας πλατείας κομβικής και συμβολικής για την πρωτεύουσα της Αθήνας. Η μαζική χρήση και κίνηση στην πλατεία, αφήνει σε καθημερινή βάση ένα ετερόκλητο αποτύπωμα πάνω της. Η πλατεία αποτελεί ένα πεδίο το οποίο αντανακλά τις εκάστοτε κοινωνικές και οικονομικές συνθήκες. Στο σήμερα, οι συνέπειες της οικονομικής κρίσης γίνονται ορατές εκτός των άλλων στα άδεια κτίρια της πλατείας. Προθετικά, η διπλωματική μας εργασία στοχεύει στην εδραίωση και την επέκταση του δημόσιου χαρακτήρα της πλατείας. Τα όρια της πλατείας διευρύνονται μέσα στα κτίρια που έχουν μέτωπο στην Ομόνοια, μέσα στις περιμετρικές στοές, μέσα στους υπόγειους χώρους κίνησης του μετρό και του ηλεκτρικού. Η αναγνώριση και η ανάδυση ενός λανθάνοντος δυναμικού μπορεί να την μετατρέψει σε πεδίο κοινωνικού διαλόγου και δράσης. Σύμφωνα με την στοχοθεσία μας προτείνουμε προγραμματικά ως νέα κύρια χρήση στα κενά κελύφη, αυτή των φοιτητικών εστιών, αξιοποιώντας και προϋπάρχουσες ξενοδοχειακές υποδομές. H ‘συμβίωση’ φοιτητών με άλλα κοινωνικά κομμάτια και η ώσμωσή τους σε μία σειρά από δημόσιους χώρους (χώροι άθλησης, πολιτιστικοί χώροι, αμφιθέατρα συνελεύσεων κ.α.) μέσω της χωρικής και προγραμματικής διαστολής του δημόσιου χώρου της πλατείας οριζοντίως (μέσα στα κτήρια) αλλά και κατακορύφως (ενοποίηση με υπόγειο επίπεδο του μετρό) μπορεί να δημιουργήσει ένα νέο δυναμικό πεδίο μέσα στην πόλη.	el
heal.abstract	The subject of our diplomatic work refers to Omonoia square, a central and symbolic square of Athens. Massive use and intense movement in the square leaves on a daily basis a heterogeneous imprint on it. The square is a mirror that reflects the social and economic circumstances. Today, the effects of the financial crisis are visible, among other things, in the empty buildings of the square. Intentionally, our diplomatic work aims to strengthen and expand the public character of the square. The boundaries of the square are widening in the buildings with front in Omonoia, in the perimetric arcades, in the subways of the metro. The recognition and the emergence of a latent potential can transform it into a field of social dialogue and action. According to our target, we are proposing as a new main use in the empty shells, that of student housing, also using pre-existing hotel infrastructures. The students' coexistence with other social units and their osmosis in a series of public spaces (sports spaces, cultural spaces, amphitheater for assemblies, etc.) through the spatial and programmatic expansion of the public space of the square horizontally (inside the buildings) but also vertically (consolidation with an underground metro level) can create a new dynamic field within the city.	en
