heal.abstract	Αυτή η διπλωματική εργασία αναφέρεται στο πρόβλημα στέγασης των φοιτητών του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς και γενικότερα του Δυτικού Πανεπιστημίου, καθώς και στην εύρεση χώρου φιλοξενίας των φοιτητών. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, πραγματεύεται το ζήτημα της Επανάχρησης πρώην Βιομηχανικού κτιρίου, στοχεύοντας την οικολογική αρχιτεκτονική, το συσχετισμό μοντέρνας Ελληνικής αρχιτεκτονικής με την σύγχρονη Ελληνική, την ανάδειξη ταυτότητας/πολιτισμού, την ανάδειξη ιστορικών και αρχιτεκτονικών αξιών και κατ' επέκταση όλων αυτών την ανάπτυξη της παλιάς βιομηχανικής ζώνης του Πειραιά.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma thesis deals with the housing problem of the students of Piraeus University and the West University in general, as well as with the hosting of the students. After extensive research and due to various parameters / elements of Piraeus, I kept as reference the lack of green spaces, the dense construction, the traffic problem, as well as the new trends taking place, emphasizing the extension of the metro and tram, of the municipality through a specific strategy, the revitalization and revival of abandoned suburban areas of the municipality, with emphasis on former industrial cores. This created a feeling of utilization of old empty / closed buildings, in the light of its incorporation into today's urban fabric. More specifically, this diploma thesis deals with the reuse of former industrial shells, aiming at ecological architecture, the correlation of the Greek architecture of the 18th-19th century with modern Greek, the emergence of identity / culture, the emergence of historical and architectural values. On the basis of the above criteria, the old Keran Tobacco Company was selected on Piraeus Street. This factory, built in modern architectural styles, is utilized and redefined, providing spaces that meet the requirements of a student home. Finally, the synthetic proposal proves respect for the existing building as well as its emergence, creating spaces for public use and dormitories with different typologies.	en
