heal.abstract	Anastasipoulis is located on the alluvial plain of Rodopi, north of the Vistonida lake. For over a thousand years, it has been one of the most important Byzantine cities of Thrace because of its strategic position, controlling the narrow passage between Rodopi and Vistonida. It was fortified by a perimeter wall an irregular heptagon, from which towers existed. Due to the successful siege of various invaders, its fortification was destroyed and rebuilt many times, trying to improve its defensive system every time. Today, few towers remain upright, while ruins of the wall are scattered in space. The present study aims to investigate and propose the restoration of the tower of Ana-stassioupolis located on the eastern side of the fortification. For this purpose, the fortification of Anastassioupolis was initially studied in order to draw conclusions that will help in the documentation of the eastern tower. It followed the morpho-logical and structural analysis of the eastern tower, where the monumental phases were iden-tified. Then there were investigated pathology issues of the tower, more pronounced than the slope from the vertical. Finally, it is proposed to restore the tower with its fixation and partial restoration of its original form	el
