heal.abstract	«Γεωφυσική Έρευνα στην Περιοχή της «Αρχαίας Αγοράς» στην κοιλάδα του Θορικού Αττικής.» Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία διερευνάται το υπέδαφος και η γύρω περιοχή της Αρχαίας Αγοράς του Θορικού με γεωφυσικές μεθόδους. Ο σκοπός της έρευνας είναι να εντοπιστούν εάν υπάρχουν ή όχι δομές στο υπέδαφος της περιοχής. Σκοπός των αρχαιολόγων που συνεργάστηκαν για αυτήν την έρευνα είναι να δουν αν τα στοιχεία που προκύπτουν από την γεωφυσική έρευνα ενισχύουν την ερμηνεία περί αγοράς. Αρχικά έγινε σχεδιασμός της γεωφυσικής έρευνας με βοήθεια πληροφοριών της περιοχής, όπως γεωλογικά και αρχαιολογικά στοιχεία. Αφού σχεδιάστηκε η γεωφυσική έρευνα έγιναν μετρήσεις μέσα και έξω από την αγορά μ 3 διαφορετικές γεωφυσικές μεθόδους την ηλεκτρομαγνητική μέθοδο (ΕΜΙ) , γεωραντάρ (GPR) και την ηλεκτρική μέθοδο (ERT). Τα αποτελέσματα που προέκυψαν από τις επί τόπου μη καταστρεπτικές μεθόδους μεταφέρθηκαν στο Εργαστήριο Εφαρμοσμένης Γεωφυσικής της Σχολής Μηχανικών Μεταλλείων – Μεταλλουργών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου. Εκεί έγινε επεξεργασία και ερμηνεία των μετρήσεων με την δημιουργία γεωφυσικών χαρτών και τομών. Από την εκτενή ανάλυση, επεξεργασία, και ερμηνεία των γεωφυσικών αποτελεσμάτων, παρατηρήθηκαν κάποιες ανωμαλίες του υπεδάφους, οι οποίες πιθανόν να οφείλονται στην ύπαρξη τοιχίων και άλλων δομών που βρίσκονται στο υπέδαφος.	el
heal.abstract	In the present thesis, the subsurface of Thoriko Ancient Market and the area all around is investigated using geophysical methods. The purpose of thiw survey is to identify whether or not there are structure on the subsurface of Thoriko Ancient Market. The purpose of the archaeologists, who cooperated in this survey, is to determine whether or not the results that come up from the survey support the theory about ancient market. Initially the geophysical investigation was designed and a pproached with information gathered concerning this area, such as geological and archaeological data. With the establishment and accomplishment of the geophysical survey, measurements were made inside and outside the ancient market with 3 different geoph ysical methods electromagnetic induction method (EMI), the ground penetrating render (GPR) and electrical resistivity method (ERT). The results of the insite non - destructive methods were transferred, for further purposes, to the Laboratory of Applied Geophysics of School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, of National Technical University of Athens. The processing and the interpretation of the measurements performed in the laboratory resulted in geophysical maps and sections. . The interpretatio n of the geophysical results showed some underground anomalies, which can potentially demonstrate the existence of walls and other structures that are buried in the subsurface	en
