heal.abstract The following thesis aims to analyze the factors that contribute on the final acoustic experience of a loudspeaker . The analysis is based on the use of a computer , so it is addressed to every engineer who wants to fully understand the function and the differences betwee n the various loudspeaker types . Special care was given in order to make the analysis suitable for people without academic training. These people are driven only by their love for the experience of true music and know that this experience is achieved only through a loudspeaker of the highest accuracy as pa rt of a comparably well performing system. The first part of the analysis is used to form a common ground by defining various meanings. The first chapter consists of exposure of facts about electronic sys tems that is commonly acquired in high school or in the first year s of undergraduate study . The knowledge about the acoustics is of undergraduate level but it is essential to fully understand some aspects of the loudspeaker . The section of the Small Area A coustics is very important for whoever wants to make the most of their system either it is intended for home or professional use . The first chapter is completed with the definition of some mechanical entities that are known even from high school and the con nection between the mechanical parts of a speaker with their electrical counterparts which is the subject of the following chapters. E ven someone vaguely acquainted with the loudspeakers may know that the mos t important par t of them is speakers . So, the subject of the second chapter is the analysis of the speaker categories that are found on common layman speakers . Furthermore the full analysis of their parameters is given , is known as Thiele/ Small analysis followed by the effect of the magnets on the final outcome. At t he end of the chapter there is a list of other speaker types besides the usual ones . Up to this point the theoretical part is covered and the second part consists mostly of simulations . The simulation analysis aims not only on the cabin sizing but also on the crossover sizing . The code seems very similar on both occasions but it is selected so that it may treat the two sizing separately . The third chapter is about the cabin layouts , whereas the fourth one is about the design of a crossover filter. T he chapter and the underlying history begin with sealed enclosures which culminated arou nd fifty years ago and continue with bass reflex enclosures that are currently very popular . Last , but not least , a more special enclosure is presented , the transmission line cabinet with its subcategories . It is the author ’ s opinion that transmission line cabinets deserve mor e pop u larity in contemporary market . Their academic value is the reason that those cabinets are presented in this thesis.
