heal.abstract	Η συγκεκριμένη διπλωματική εργασία αφορά πρόταση για τη δημιουργία σχολής ξυλοναυπηγικής τέχνης στη Σύρο με σκοπό τη διάσωση και τη διατήρηση μιας εκ των παραδοσιακότερων ελληνικών τεχνών που τείνει να εκλείψει. Η επιλογή του θέματος και του τόπου για αυτήν την ερευνητική εργασία ήταν ένας συνδυασμός διαφόρων παραγόντων. Αρχικά μας κέντρισε το ενδιαφέρον η σχέση του οικοπέδου/κήπου με το κέλυφος/ερείπιο από το παλιό εργοστάσιο κλωστοϋφαντουργίας του Λαδόπουλου στην Ερμούπουλη, η αμφισημία του και οι πιθανοί τρόποι μεταχείρισης του. Το ίδιο χρονικό διάστημα είχαμε ευαισθητοποιηθεί με το ζήτημα της καταστροφής των ξύλινων αλιευτικών σκαφών, με προτροπή της Ευρωπαικής Ένωσης για τον έλεγχο της υπεραλιείας μέσα από τη δουλειά μιας εικαστικού που αναπαλαιώνει και «διασώζει», εγκαταλελειμμένα, παλιά ξύλινα καΐκια στη Σχοινούσα και το έργο του αρχιτέκτονα Κώστα Γουζέλη, ο οποίος είχε γυρίσει μία σειρά από ντοκιμαντέρ στην προσπάθεια του να διασώσει την ξυλοναυπηγική τέχνη. Η πρόταση απαρτίζεται από τα εργαστήρια ναυπηγικής και τη λέσχη τα οποία συνδέονται μέσω του θεματικού κήπου με το ξύλινο δάπεδο από τμήματα παραδοσιακών σκαριών. Καθώς η σχολή βασίζεται στη βιωματική σχέση με την κατασκευή, συνθετικά αυτό εκφράστηκε με τη δημιουργία τριών γλιστρών και κατ’ επέκταση τριών τυποποιημένων εργαστηρίων ναυπηγικής που επιτρέπουν την παράλληλη εκμάθηση. Η λέσχη αποτελεί έναν κοινωνικό χώρο τόσο για τους φοιτητές όσο και για τους κατοίκους του νησιού και περιλαμβάνει έναν εκθεσιακό χώρο, ένα θέατρο κι ένα αναγνωστήριο. Θέλοντας να διατηρήσουμε την αίσθηση του κήπου επιλέγουμε να τοποθετήσουμε τις λειτουργίες τόσο των εργαστηριών όσο και της Λέσχης κάτω από ένα οξειδωμένο χάλκινο κέλυφος. Το υλικό αυτό προτιμήθηκε λόγω της δυνατότητας του να οξειδώνεται και να μεταβάλλεται με την πάροδο του χρόνου.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma thesis concerns a proposal for a school of wooden boatbuilding in Syros with the aim of saving and preserving one of the most traditional Greek crafts. The reason for choosing this topic and place for our project was a combination of various factors. Initially, the relationship of the plot / garden with the shell / ruins from the old textile factory of Ladopoulos in Ermoupolis along with its ambiguity and the possible ways of treating it, was what appealed to us. At the same time, we learned about the issue regarding the destruction of traditional wooden boats, led by the European Union in order to control over-fishing, through the work of an artist who renovates and "rescues" abandoned old wooden boats in Schoinousa and the work of the architect Costas Gouzelis, who had made a series of documentaries in his attempt to rescue the wooden boatbuilding craft. Our proposal is composed by the boatbuilding workshops and the social space/club that are connected through a thematic garden with a wooden floor constructed from traditional boat sections. In terms of design, as the school builds on the experiential relationship with construction, we created three launch ramps supported by three standardized boatbuilding workshops that enable simultaneous teaching and learning. The club is a social space for both students and residents of the island and includes an exhibition area, a theater and a library. In order to maintain the sense of the garden, we choose to place those functions of both the workshops and the club under an oxidized copper shell. This material was preferred because of its ability to oxidize and change over time.	en
