heal.abstract	Η σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα της ραγδαίας ανάπτυξης των πόλεων και της συνεπαγόμενης αύξησης των Ι.Χ. αυτοκινήτων σε συνδυασμό με τις ενδείξεις επιδείνωσης του φαινομένου του θερμοκηπίου καθιστούν αναγκαία τη διερεύνηση και την εφαρμογή οικονομικά και περιβαλλοντικά βιώσιμων πρακτικών στον τομέα των μεταφορών. Προς αυτήν την κατεύθυνση, πολλοί ερευνητές έχουν στρέψει το ενδιαφέρον τους στην οικολογική οδήγηση, για την οποία έχει αποδειχθεί ότι συμβάλλει σημαντικά στη μείωση της κατανάλωσης καυσίμου και των εκπομπών διοξειδίου του άνθρακα. Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η εισαγωγή ενός δείκτη (eDrive) ποσοτικοποίησης του οικολογικού αποτυπώματος της οδήγησης και η διερεύνηση της σχέσης του με την κατανάλωση καυσίμου. Για τον προσδιορισμό του δείκτη eDrive χρησιμοποιήθηκαν δεδομένα πραγματικού χρόνου τα οποία περιγράφουν την οδηγική συμπεριφορά του χρήστη, αλλά και τις κυκλοφοριακές συνθήκες και συλλέγονται μέσω εφαρμογής κινητού τηλεφώνου. Για τη διερεύνηση της σχέσης του δείκτη eDrive με την κατανάλωση καυσίμου διενεργήθηκαν δύο πειράματα, ένα διευρυμένο το οποίο εξέταζε το θέμα σε επίπεδο συνολικών ταξιδιών ενός χρήστη και ένα ελεγχόμενο το οποίο εξέταζε το θέμα σε επίπεδο διαδρομής. Τα αποτελέσματα της ανάλυσης οδήγησαν στο συμπέρασμα ότι σε επίπεδο διαδρομής υπάρχει ικανοποιητική συσχέτιση του δείκτη eDrive με την κατανάλωση καυσίμου και ότι η επιρροή της οδηγικής συμπεριφοράς σε αυτήν, είναι σημαντική.	el
heal.abstract	The increased usage of private vehicles resulting from the modern reality of rapidly developing cities and the indications of the deterioration of the greenhouse effect make the investigation and the application of economically and environmentally sustainable solutions necessary. Towards this direction, many researchers have turned their attention to eco-driving. Recent findings indicate that eco-driving has a significant contribution in the reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce a quantification metric of the ecological driving footprint and to investigate its relationship with fuel consumption. This index is based on real-time data collected from smartphone sensors. The index is estimated using those data that describe the driving behavior of the user and the traffic conditions during the trip. To investigate the relationship between eDrive and fuel consumption, two experiments were conducted, one expanded, which examined the total trips of a specific user and one supervised, which examined the relationship on a specific route performed by a user. Findings indicate that there is a high correlation of the eDrive index with fuel consumption when examining a specific route, as well as the importance of the influence of driving behavior to fuel consumption.	en
